I don't really care about the altcoin board, but a newbie section is supposed to help new people to learn about Bitcoin - not to exploit their little knowledge about the subject.

If this is happening in the newbie forum it is a deficiency in moderation and should be addressed. However, the notion that the gambling and altcoin forums should be deleted because certain people dislike them is more in line with nanny state thinking than the freedom based ethos of Bitcoin.

I agree, when I joined it was spam everywhere. CrapCoins in the Newbie section, I think it is time for an uplift, but I don't think deleting the altcoin forum is the way to do it.  Undecided

just delete the altcoin forum. Cheesy

It's so easy to ignore.  I'm not a regular visitor to that part of the forum.  I forget we have that forum until people mention it.

Get off my c@ck !

I put the altcoin board on ignore when the craziness started.  Almost forgot it even exists.

Just do it. The forum improves significantly after doing so.

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

The newbie forum is going to be cleaned up today.

I never look at the altcoin or gambling subforums so they don't bother me. You don't even have to put them ignore, just don't go there.

I like to use the "Show unread posts since last visit."-Linkto see what's going on here.

It makes sense to blend out board you are not interested in (all languages I don't speak and altcoins).

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update
