It is not possible in today's calculation between bitcoin and ethereum , bitcoin has the highest value in crypto currencies market so it very tough to beat with other crypto currencies .

I still doubt it. the value of bitcoin is currently still the top and fairly expensive compared to eth or other altcoin. but suppose, if eth can balance bitcoin, this is a remarkable achievement.

Bitcoin need to improve, because of its high transfer fee and time.
Right now, I already switch some bitcoin into ehtereum.

there is a possibility, if bitcoin blockchain traffic and delays continues.. anyways the energy consumption of etherium is way too less in comparison to Bitcoin.bitcoin takes more time to transmit the coins while Etherium is very fast.
if you compare the ethereum network fees with bitcoin network fees you will understand everything. From last 1 month gas minimum price increased by 10x times now minimum spend is 32 Giwe which is around 10$ per Transfer. its still cheap as compare to bitcoin network Security of ether network is poor many people complaining that their money gone from wallet. plus points Ether is ERC20 based wallet most of altcoins depends on this exchange people will buy more ether in future rather than Bitcoin because ether supports new tokens I dont think ethereum can beat bitcoin because bitcoin has the highest volume and it is the most popular i think so thats the reason why. But we cant predict. Because what if the price of ethereum really pumps up and reached also $20k. We cant predict. |

Don't think Ethereum will reach BTC's market cap. Actually I don't see any coin reaching close to BTC.

I think all that is happening with ETH now is a result of some misunderstanding. It will go to correction and very soon and people will get very frustrated. IMHO

There is a real possibility to see ETH as a most popular coin in the near future. I think Ethereum has more potential for growth.
Of course BTC also in a progress - we can see a lot of hardforks - so BTC is going to fight for it's domination.

They are chasing very different use cases. I'm not sure I'd even view them as direct competitors. I think that would be almost like saying can Berkshire Hathaway beat Microsoft.

The only reason that can make Etheruem beat Bitcoin is its volatity and the high fees.
If the miners does not find a quick solution about the fees issues maybe it will depass it in few months.
But talking economics, Ethereum is having a great raise but can not beat Bitcoin unless a catastrophe is happening.

IMO, 2018 will be a boom year for ETH, predicting that by the end of 2018 the ETH rate will rise to $ 10,000, and the next three years ETH will overtake Bitcoin. So now you should think about investing in ETH, now that its exchange rate has reached more than 1200 dollars.

Well, there are so many sayings for this year 2018. Some people say, 2018 is the year of altcoins, and some people are also saying, 2018 is the year of ethereum. No doubt, ethereum started this year with many changes, even growing from $725 to $1,320 is a great achievement. But still have so many months to go in this year 2018. |

Ethereum shows great potential but I don't think it can go par to par with bitcoin. Maybe in a few years it can reach the current status of bitcoin right now but when that happens bitcoin's price would be ahead of ethereum.

For me nothing is impossible so I think there's a chance that ehereum can beat bitcoin. Lets say that ethereum can grow up or rise on a high but I think there's only a little chance that it can beat bitcoin because for now bitcoin is so popular many of us are using this and many of the people wanted to have it. |

I think so too, seeing from the current development of ETH
Bitcoin price drops, but ETH rises and stays stable, it is not impossible that it will happen ETH can replace bitcoin this year

Whoa, altcoin won't overtake bitcoin that easily because altcoin is based from bitcoin and many investor already invest their money in bitcoin so if bitcoin collapse they will lose faith in cryptocurrency. Unless bitcoin won't apply new technology then its over |

Ethereum might be being in a very bullish trend at the moment, but it doesn't mean anything. And the fees of the ethereum network as incredible huge. I have some ethereums at the moment , and i have been holding them since they were worth $300.. But i do not think that it can beat bitcoin, it will never happen.
