I consider this for like a year when altcoin markets exploded. Bitcoin price was in decline meanwhile ethereum climbed up every other day. But then crash happened and I saw ethereum dropping easier than bitcoin. So it cannot beat bitcoin.

It seems very unlikely but one cannot be 100% sure about it. Bitcoin should remain the king of cryptocurrencies for long time.

You have correctly noticed that when Bitcoin fell the Ethereum grew up in price. If the price of Ethereum would be higher. At bitcoin, not everything is good in terms of price. So it's a Bitcoin can catch Ethereum Grin

I don't think it can. Bitcoin = Crypto in the mind of the public. And Ethereum is not an intuitive name.

in theory if you check the coin supplies for present the ratio is quite like 1 to 5 means when ethereum passes 0.2 btc value lets say 0.3, the market-cap of ethereum will surpass market-cap of btc meaning all ethereum holders can change their ethereum for btc and they would not choose it.

to me it is not meaningful at the moment. if something like this happens it means the paradigm has changed and bitcoin wont be the king anymore.

until that day comes king is king

investors do not want this idea to be formed because the whole mechanism is built on BTC, and if such a thing is done, all plans are restructured over eth.

We've seen in the gaming industry that the highest quality product does not win out over the most popular product.

Ethereum is mooning incredibly with stability, But bitcoin still a volatile coin. Lots of crypto expert telling that 2018 Will be for Ethereum. So, what do you think, Can Ethereum beat Bitcoin?

Sorry For bad English. I am trying to improve it.

Thank You, everyone.

Anything can happen in crypto, and as we know ethereum is one of the most used crypto asside from bitcoin. Most investors and traders have ethereum, and ethereum is also used mostly in ICOs. So, there's a possibility that it can beat bitcoin in the future.

ethereum has a chance to beat bitcoin, but ethereum has not been able to continue to run to beat bitcoin because the ethereum platform is still limited, but if I think when ethereum has developed a plaform innovation they might be able to beat bitcoin.

The natural nature of crypto money is who keeps the bitcoin, so indirectly gives the impetus for this currency to continue to mainstream.
Bitcoin users are more and more widespread than Ethereum users it is unlikely Ethereum can beat Bitcoin.

it is still a matter of speculation whether ethereum can beat bitcoin, because now ethereum will still continue to grow while bitcoin will still retain its position as the most expensive coin. so I think ethereum and bitcoin are still the second best coins.

the speed rate of these two coins is different if one of them increases rapidly, ethereum tends to develop more slowly because it only focuses on smart contracts, if the ethereum is raised as high as possible, then in the future will make their fee higher and unreachable to many ethereum should make the private market to get the best volume and can approach bitcoin tightly, currently still far from expectations.

I would say that possibility for Ethereum to bit Bitcoin at some stage is very high. There are some reasons for this to happen. First of all, the demand for ethereum is very high, because of its widespread use for ICOs and startups based on Ethereum network and ERC20 standard. The number of such projects will be only increasing and this means that demand for Ethereum will be growing. At some stage, it can really grow very high!

after I see the graph what happens in the market ETHEREUM is very difficult to beat BITCOIN
could be ETHEREUM can not beat BITCOIN
because BITCOIN is a role model for ETHEREUM and all altcoin
if BITCOIN rises then ETHEREUM also rises
if BITCOIN goes down then ETHEREUM also goes down
and other altcoins also come down

I think that Bitcoin will be used in the future as a payment method and Ethereum will be used for its smart-contracts. Both will survive, both will have different uses.

It actually depends, a lot of people had believed in bitcoin and it's potential for the past recent years. If ethereum can provide all the convenience and profitability that bitcoin had brought to people, it can take bitcoin's place. However, it's quiet difficult for them to compare since they are of different platform and each are existing to do different tasks and serve different purposes.

If you mean is about the prices, i think can not. But if its about value, that's maybe it can. Because ethereum until to day more growing up the value, the bitcoin getting smaller in value but more priceless. Smiley
