KRAKEN is down for almost 24 hours. I have accounts in different exchanges and so far this is the longest down time for any exchange I have ever seen. To make things worse, their update is soooo cynical! " We are close but rather than launch immediately ahead of the team passing out, we will push off a bit to get some rest "We users are anxiously waiting and you guys are taking rest?? huh!! I sent them a support ticket 3 months ago and till now no reply!! Now this down time... I will take my money out as soon as it comes back online. But I highly suspect, they will disable withdrawing money after they are online! because they know deep down there are hundreds of more users like me who will leave this crappy exchange as soon as possible!!

there is lots on this topic to be found. From what I understand they are doing an update. We all have seen and experienced the problems on Kraken in the last month's. Hopefully it will be way better after the work done.

Kraken and Poloniex are GARBAGE exchanges. Kraken had problems in the past with payouts and also screwed people over when marginal trading went down the gutter a few years back. Polo's support is HORRIBLE. But 90% of exchanges suck.

When you see how the site was full of errors for several months, it's probably not a simple update but rather a major upgrade. The engine was really outdated. It's frustrating. Looks like they didn't get a test environment before trying to be on live lol. I hope the problems will be fixed once for good and then that they will improve the customers support to the level we deserve. We are still working to resolve the issues that we have identified and our team is working around the clock to ensure a smooth upgrade.
This means it may still take several hours before we can relaunch the site. Jan 12, 12:05 UTC

After seeing so many users loosing their money from other exchanges, my heart is beating really fast in this long down time from KRAKEN

Don't worry you are not alone, I am in the same shoe. I was off for 2-3 days and this morning I noticed the website is down and wasn't aware the site will be offline. After all the horrible stories we saw before with exchanges like MTGox, Crypty, BTC-e... everything is possible unfortunately :/

Kraken has been having some issues recently. I have also had some problems. Looking for other exchanges like binance.

Ask Roger Ver what’s going on. He owns Kraken.com. Maybe he’s converting everyone’s bitcoin to bitcoin cash. As soon as the conversion is complete Kraken will open back up and you will all only see bitcoin cash in your accounts. LOL

Maybe OT: really Roger Ver own Kraken? Ask Roger Ver what’s going on. He owns Kraken.com. Maybe he’s converting everyone’s bitcoin to bitcoin cash. As soon as the conversion is complete Kraken will open back up and you will all only see bitcoin cash in your accounts. LOL
Yep, he was the very first investor in Kraken and owns the domain name Kraken.com.

i'm really disappointed. I've been using kraken since 2014 and that was a really great exchange.
But now...i don't know...
I really hope that this down will solve their problems

kraken is working in degraded mode for months now, they promised to upgrade their infrastructure couple of times "please, have patience, we're working on it" and at some point i got enough of it. Took me 3 days to be able to add a bank account to withdraw everything and another 4 days of error 505/502, transaction failed please retry later.. I have always loved kraken, was my first exchanger and i had faith in them.. now are just a joke and my advice is to get out of it until they will really solve their issues, right now even if you are able to login (after couple of refreshes) good luck trying to create a transaction.

Never mind, I forgot that you can’t ask Roger Ver how an exchange is doing. He will just lie to you like he lied about MtGox.

As a system admin myself, it really sucks when a system upgrade doesn't go as planned, but for a site as big as kraken, I'm shocked at how long they take to perform the upgrade or at the very least perform a fallback (if they even have a fallback plan).

This explains why Roger is supporting Bitcoin Cash too, because he likes to invest in technology that will eventually fail. He is also invested in Blockchain.info and these guys decided to add BCash, before SegWit. {Just wondering if he had a hand in that too} The timing with Coinbase and Kraken going down at almost the same time, might also explain the dip in the price. {less volume}

Kraken is upgrading it's systems but it's not enough. They are mostly offline. I'm bored of seeing Cloudflare's 502 error page. I assume, Kraken is promoting Cloudflare But in fact, it's one of the rare fiat exchanges. I use to deposit USD and EURO time to time...

Finally someone gets it. I use humor and sarcasm on this forum way too much (because I like to use it in speaking). Someone told me once the spoken word doesn’t always translate well to the written word. I really should stop considering for about 80% of this forum English is a second or third language.
