Ontology was aiming to create its own platform but basically you should not trust all of the developer's promises. We don't need more and more useless platform. Neither of these two projects, ETH or NEO are standing still, they are in active development. ETH has the advantage right now, but NEO is hot on it's heels, but I don't see these two coins competing with each other for any kind of dominance. Different markets, plenty of space in the market. Rather, they will both benefit from a share of ideas - what works, what doesn't, what type of roadmap to plan, how to increase efficiency and adoption.

I hold both, as I believe both have something to offer. The Chinese market is MASSIVE, so NEO has a huge potential to gain ground. This is why I hold NEO.

I've actually developed on Ethereum and started experimenting with NEO. In case you weren't aware (and I say this cuz I didn't realize it until someone told me), there is good reason for Ethereum using Solidity. The reason is that it's much more computationally efficient, and therefore cheaper.

I'm beginning to see Eth vs. Neo kind of like Linux vs. Apple in the early 90's.

The Neo Council forming formal and direct ties and providing investment money to governments and enterprises to onboard them, etc. Neo is also unforkable so there will always only be one Neo like there is only one Mac OS built by Apple. or only one Keanu Reeves in the Matrix...

As for competitive advantage, only time will tell which route works and for what use cases. I personally think the world desperately needs a public chain like Ethereum more than we need Neo. However that doesn't necessarily mean that holding Eth will guarentee more returns for you. Look at what holding Apple shares for long could've done for your portfolio. Although as we head towards a decentralized economy how things are valued will change and where value can reach will be different from the legacy economic system. It wasn't possible back then to buy a share of open source Linux, but now we can in the blockchain space.
