Cardstack helps take Hyperledger projects one step closer to their fully realized potential: by serving as a unifying experience layer that allows new applications to take shape around Hyperledger’s protocols and services. Our goal — and the intention of the Cardstack Framework — is to let users simultaneously interact with multiple blockchains, and multiple aspects of the cloud, in a cohesive way. When we provide the connective middleware, then we will be able to break down existing barriers between permissionless and permissioned ledgers, so all kinds of protocols can share value and utility in a common environment.

I also believed in the project and did not pick up the air, but who knew that we would squeeze so much ((A lot of projects of the HYIP projects sank by several times, even those who paid bountyrs on the air. I will also wait at least 10 from the current ones.

Prediction: One day, the blockchain world will have one billion monthly active users.

Some days, “black swan” events — The DAO hack, the Parity incident, the Tether theft — make it seem as if that day may never arrive. On other days, the exuberance in the air (and on the charts) make it feel that that milestone has already happened, even if the actual end user numbers suggest we may be off by a few zeros.

If you have been around blockchain long enough, you intuitively know that “it’s gonna happen!” It’s just a matter of when.

Did you see Cardstack Senior Blockchain Developer Hassan's article from way back in January where he shares our thinking around Merkle trees and scalable payment pools?

Quote
the Merkle tree needs to keep track of the cumulative amount of tokens, meaning that the list of payees and their amounts can only ever grow over time — we should not ever see that a payee’s cumulative amount be less in a subsequent payment cycle.

Moreover, I believe one day we will be paying in stores just by a fingerprint confirming a transaction Smiley)) also this refers accounting reports and so on.

Why stop at layer 2?
Cardstack’s approach is to take advantage of every layer in the stack in order to combine the best of what the decentralized world and traditional tech have to offer
https://journal.binarydistrict.com/blockchain-scalability-even-if-most-transactions-are-in-layer-ii-we-still-need-a-layer-i/

From our white paper:
"Cardstack’s application framework and token mechanisms combine the new possibilities provided by smart contracts, while leveraging the incredible global scale and cost efficiency of cloud computing, to deliver this user experience."

What if just a tiny portion of the proposed use cases for blockchain technology were successfully implemented?

Some of blockchain’s most-hyped innovations right now — such as stable coins and decentralized exchanges — continue to focus on trading. We should get beyond that and develop everyday ways to use smart contract platforms. Or create open-source frameworks for developers to code apps with great user experiences. Above all, we need the decentralization movement to become more diverse, more coordinated, and to create applications that can be used by everyone.

Once real usage arrives, then we can start talking about challenging tech incumbents. Then the value of blockchain companies will be able to rival one of today’s digital superpowers. Then we’ll have something real to analyze and compare.

ICYMI, here's an article from the Cardstack blog:

What an Afternoon with High Schoolers Taught Me About Blockchain
Getting everyone in the same room is how we hack our way to real utility

Here's an excerpt from the article:

Quote
"While these students unfortunately did not manage to solve all of crypto’s problems in that 24-hour period, the event — hosted by Chinese-based nonprofit DoraHacks — exemplified to me a lot of what’s missing in terms of recruitment and incubation. Participants were young and excited with great ideas, and I couldn’t help but wonder what their next step would be after that one day event."

Awesome initiative. I'm totally agreed that blockchain is heavily damaged by all the speculation around the tech and believe this impedes development and its adoption. However such events attracting young ambitious people show its bright future and success.

There's still time to get your questions in! No question too big, none too small. Have you been wondering how a code monkey might integrate Cardstack into his Workflow? Maybe you want to know where Chris got the idea that became Cardstack? Or what the team is working towards these days?

All you need to do is ask!

Don't miss this recent update from the team:

Hi Cardstack community, We are close to a major software release of the Cardstack framework. We are working on a set of demoable features that hooks into the Card rendering pipeline we have been working on, as well as a Git based distributed versioning work flow that is ready for the community to use. We will be scheduling a series of weekly demos starting in about 2 weeks that will walk you through various use cases of how you can leverage the Card paradigm to create decentralized applications that feels like polished web experiences, but hooks into one or more decentralized technologies underneath. Our focus is to get the top level of the experience layer right, and we will be announcing our four edges design system, which implements the common capabilities needed for Card development as a set of out-of-the-box functionalities and system services. We will walk you through what developers get out-of-the-box, and where the areas of customizations and extensions are. For those interested in the underlying architecture, we will also provide an overview of how the code works together to create this cohesive experience that could be extended to cover most of the techniques needed to decentralize the key elements of the web as we move towards a web 3.0 ecosystem.

Follow the discuss in Cardstack's Telegram group
