currently ADT trading is paused on cryptsy due to the block rollbacks trading will be un paused  as soon as we are happy that there is minimal risk of the coin rolling back again

we are working on getting a permanent fix sorted and we will update you as we know more

what is causing these issues? is it the POS or is it due to the fast block times ? what is causing these issues?

I think its 1 of 2 things causing it but we will know for sure soon

1 its the huge Chinese coin hoping pool that's 20X the network speed ( nearly 800,000,000kh )

( when it jumps of it leave the coin with a high diff block and when it talks to long to solve the block the coins auto repairs and rolls back blocks )

2 its POS blocks causing it not to make POW blocks for a few mins and that kicks in the auto repair

we are looking into it and will get it fixed asap

edit I an 99% sure the problem is the big pool jumping of the coin and I think I know how to fix it

thanks for the info i didn't realise even with diff recalc every block this could happen. How about a maximum permitted diff adjust per block or would that not even help. I guess these hopping pools would destroy the coins with the old diff adjust design. Good job there are no hopping pools massive enough to push LTC diff 20x network speed, or ltc would be unprofitable to mine for quite some time.

I have a few ideas to stop the problem and I am talking to people about it and should have a fix in the next couple of days

( my idea is change it so if its stuck for 5 mins it goes back 4 blocks and if its still stuck 55 mins later it will go back a further 116 blocks that way it can recover from a 95% drop in network hashpower

In 120 blocks (116+4) a huge amount of ADT could have been moved to cryptsy and potentially have been exchanged against LTC. When your rollback happens the ADT that was transferred gets reversed and people end up with negative balances in their accounts and ADT gets automatically delisted because of it.

If I was running an exchange I'd be horrified that you think this is a good thing for the coin. You're just making it more likely that the coin will be delisted permanently.

You shouldn't be trying to fix high difficulty by turning back time.

please read back a few posts

firstly when the block roles back no tx are lost there just in the next block to be mined from what I  have seen from the last role backs and the lack of complaints

we also have to stop the rollback issue being caused by the big pool jumping of the coin and stop stuck blocks being a problem

so having it rollback 4 blocks if it gets stuck for 5m will not affect transactions as they are added into the next generated blocks and as the exchanges have a 6 confirms it wont affect that ether the only thing that will be lost is the 4 blocks that get rolled back

the benefits that rolling back 4 blocks after 5 mins are it will fix stuck block quickly and effectively it will stop the network rolling back if the network hash rate drops by 90%

then the 116 blocks only kicks in if its still stuck after 1h ( should never happen unless there is a huge network issue or 99% of the network suddenly drops off )

right now when the huge pool jumps of  we have seen it go back over 1000 blocks I can tell you this I would rather lose 4 blocks than 1000 blocks

( none of this can be proven at this time its all circumstantial evidence that I am looking to confirm )

You can't possibly know if this scenario will happen or not. What this means to anyone accepting ADT is you can't possibly trust an incoming transaction until it has at the very least 120 confirms just in case the coin arbitrarily decides to roll back.

Its good to hear this from developers and see we can rely on your help.
Shame that Cryptsy didnot inform anybody and didnot even react on my question so I must find the answer here.

I am sure it will help the coin and when it returns to cryptsy it will become a rolling stone and rise a lot in value. I believe ADT offers many new excellent features.
It can easily grow more than IFC did in August.

if you read back a few posts you will see that as far as I know 0 tx have been lost because of this problem as the block after the rollback seams to have all of the tx in it so the main problem is miners losing coins due to mined blocks being rolled back 

we are looking at as many options as possible to make sure that it wont happen again

The coin can still be mined there is just a risk of blocks rolling back we are working on fixing it asap but there are only a few people that have the skills to code it but expect a fix soon
