I think that there are always enough frightened and not just newbies. I personally think that the most difficult times are already over and now you can buy some top coins.

At the moment when the exchange rate of the entire cryptocurrencies is tending to fall, buying to hold until the exchange rate increases are decisive. You should purchase altcoins because it is predicted that by the end of 2018 altcoins will explode vigorously, maybe x5 on exchange rates so investing in altcoins is what you should do at the moment.

I wish I had more bitcoin to buy get in alts at this time. I went all into alts from biitcoin during november and december, not the best decision I have ever made. Note to myself to always keep spare bitcoin to make the most of dips such as this.w

I think the best time to buy is when ever you want to because crypto currency is decentralized that means no one can hold price of it. It may go down or it may go up but it depends on the market and the people. It's more like a high risk high reward game.

Seriously: Dollar cost average - split total into segments and buy a little once a day / week/month or wherever. This averages out the risk.
