I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.

It's your decision to do so, it's not easy to take seeing your investment falling right before your eyes, but there are instances that you should hold your coin for a long term the best strategy is to pick coins that you will hold for long term even if the price of that coin is falling.

   If you are a day trader you must stay alert and must have a mind that ready to decide quickly. And always set stop loss.

    But if you are long term holder yeah your right always remain calm because everything are normal. Just hold it and wait until reach your desired price to sell.

     Before you invest you first need to determine what kind of investment are you going to make. Is it long term or short term? So that you know what to do and you can make a good decision
