The position between Bitcoin and Ethereum is very close indeed.
I think if Ethereum doesn't seem to be replacing Bitcoin.
I'm sure Bitcoin will become a strong coin and is a coin with high value while Ethereum will be under Bitcoin because the technology owned by Ethereum is still not as sophisticated as Bitcoin so I'm sure that Bitcoin will dominate the Cryptocurrency market.

I think that Ethereum is still very far from Bitcoin and the point here is not even in the price, but in the fact that Ethereum is not extremely stable coin and people in different ways otnsyatsya to Ethereum. Bitcoin also causes more confidence.

Yes.Ethereum is next to bitcoin. It's the second most promising coin after bitcoin. Ethereum has the potential of growing into one of the most popular coins in the future. It will survive. Ethereum will never die.

This is very much impossible now due to the ETH price now lingering around less than USD200.  It will take a miracle if it can bypass BTC as the  leader of the market.

I agree! ETH will always be with BTC. The growth rate of ETH can surpass the BTC but the value of the BTC is always the # 1 position. The stability and influence on the Altcoin market of BTC is always higher than ETH.

I so see that with such successes as now at the ethereum then it generally will not be anywhere. Because it is falling rapidly and I do not think that bitcoin wants to see such coins next to him. The ethereum needs good growth in order to be next to bitcoin.

No, i dont think so. Bitcoin is a digital currency and next digital gold. That is the reason one Ethereum is not replaced BTC, even if it better or more technological. Unfortunelly, not the best technology will be first. And ETH is not the best.

It was a wide speculation when eth had jumped to over $1000 with fast transactions and mass adoption, it was expected that it will take over btc but I wasn't among those that believed it will, now I think Btc has been vindicated, eth still remains an altcoin that not yet matured to withdstand market pressures, BTC remains the king, go check its dominant factor among altcoins, over 58% of total marketcap

ETH has fallen quite heavily versus Bitcoin during the past few days. And it seems that it will continue to fall, until a recovery occurs in the ICO market. Right now, I'd advice everyone to stay away from ETH.

Bitcoin has the highest degree of decentralization. The basic network is the largest and the degree of awareness is the highest. There are orders of magnitude different from all other currencies. Bitcoin has certain issues that make it not very useful for small transactions meaning it’s not useful as a currency for most purchases. Therefore, my prediction is that someday bitcoin will be the dinosaur that started it all and not really be worth much and ethereum may still be around longer than that. Also, the price is entirely set by people’s opinion of it.

Even tho ETH has went through a correction its still the clear #2cryptocurrency and will stay that way for a long time.  Most trading pairs on exchanges are eth and btc and there arent much competition.

Many observers are convinced that the future of ETH will continue to improve and soon defeat bitcoin, I think it's natural because of the security side, the speed and the cheaper cost make ETH deserve number # 1.

All possibilities can occur, we cannot predict with certainty. but we have to know that dev has worked so hard that ETH prices can be as expensive as now, I can't make sure ETH will be like BTC, but with the development up to now ETH has better potential

At the moment, ETH is very weak and its price continues to fall. I think that this will have a very negative impact on investor confidence in this coin. ETH never replaces bitcoin.

Both coins will have a great future. Ethereum is a high potential altcoin. And it is next to bitcoin because it is in the top also

it could be eth compete with btc but will not be able to exceed the value of bitcoin investment because no one has become a model bypassed by its branch. because if BTC goes down then eth will follow its decline too.

All the coins which has a good team will have a chance to beat BTC in the top.
ETH is next to bitcoin but it's one of the worst performing coin this year, it's down below $200 now and that hurts a lot of investors
but not me because I've seen this many times and I am expecting a rebound.

I just created this thread to gather opinions ..
Ethereum is next to BTC?

In terms of ranks Ethereum is already next or second to bitcoin but if you mean is if bitcoin will disappear and will be replace by Ethereum that is very impossible because bitcoin will never be superseded by any altcoins including ethereum because no matter how many ethereum you kept still it will be traded or sell it for bitcoin for fiat and that makes bitcoin value to become more stable and strong.
Ethereum became the second most expensive coin after Bitcoin. as this is influenced by Ethereum's ever-increasing development and affecting prices and making its prices increasing and becoming expensive. in addition, Ethereum has long been said to be the next of Bitcoin as its development and Ethereum continue to show a better improvement.
I'm very confident with the presence of Ethereum as coins that will be very capable of making it a mainstay of coins.
In addition to Ethereum itself became a thriving far more coins increases compared to other Altcoin.

I think Ethereum may be the best coin next to bitcoin not necessarily replacing bitcoin.  I like the fact that ethereum has shown and increase exponentially more in getting people into cryptocurrency.  With more project repeating what Ethereum has done,  there will faster adoption for cryptocurrency!
