So me and my buddy just took a blunt to the head and he knows nothing about Bitcoins so Im asking him what he would do with $130.... His Reply   " if I was online and someone gave me free money and he would buy his mother flowers because he was thinking about his mother and if he came across a thread like this he would buy his mom flowers,  It would be a very nice gift he says, showing the gift of giving, and that you would probably do the same thing.  Then with any left over he would get gas probably, or actually his nephew a leather jacket "   So that's our response Smiley

I see a lot of folks taking this lightly, and that's all well and fine but there's really only one answer to question:

Do what's practical.

For some that may mean keeping the coin as a long-term investment, hoping that the community as a whole will spearhead their financial success. For others, it may be getting into the trenches and developing BTC related merchandise, games, auctionhouses, miners, etc. Still for others the wonderment of bitcoin is enough, and they'll squander away their earnings on negative expected-value games for hopes of riches.

In all of the above though there's one salient feature, one shining light - It has value. This digital list of cryptographic fancy-ness actually has value.

That's wonderful to me, it not only points out that money is an abstraction but it's an abstraction that can be improved.

Going back to your question, the practical thing for me is to learn as much as I can about these abstractions, so that I may one day help improve upon them.

If you're looking for something a little less nebulous, I'm a math and comp-sci double major, so it'd probably go toward books  Tongue

With 1btc I would give away 25% of it, gamble away another 25% of it (most likely on Just-Dice)
Another 25% would go to buying something from SR (heh) and the last 25% would stay in my wallet. Smiley

I'll use it to buy domain and web hosting.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

I would invest it in CFD silver and leverage it x20 at 1broker.com. Seems we're getting ready to attack Syria which will cause the price of silver to jump hard over the next week not to mention September is the strongest month for gold and silver historically going all the way back to 1975.

I would sell it right now at the current price ($140), wait for the price to drop a little, buy them back, and repeat the process till I have enough to make a giveaway for people that wants btc as bad as me but can't get their hands on them......

After reading through the entire thread, I think this whole thing is extremely fishy.

You can't pay for the trip with BTC anyways. The 1 BTC should be enough for the meals though Smiley.
