Everyone is afraid to get stolen and get hacked. In this advanced technology, honestly, I don't know much about security. I do not which anti-virus is really trustworthy to have.

Paper wallet it pretty much the most secure but the least user friendly or perhaps a brain wallet (splitting part of the keys between different people you inherently trust). After that you could use a ledger or hardware wallet - just watch out for those 15 year olds who can break them. What I do is have a double encrypted virtual machine on a separate VLAN behind a software vm firewall which is all protected by a hardware firewall (I also have a honepot configured to help identity an attack). Only one pc can access it over a secure connection.
You need to ask yourself though who would take the effort to hack you (which is often just gaining your credentials somehow and not technically hacking). Best advice I can give you is to TELL NO ONE that you do crypto.

There was a pretty good article on Zero Hedge about this just the other day:
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-23/visualizing-rising-problem-crypto-theft-and-how-protect-yourself (Visualizing The Rising Problem Of Crypto Theft (And How To Protect Yourself))
I think reading this can help anyone new to crypto understand the issues, and how to handle them as effectively as a normal person can. Not everyone will be able to set up a double encrypted virtual machine, I know that (myself included)!

Like investors and many people here, I am afraid of getting hacked. It is not easy to prevent this but you can take some steps to lower the chance of getting hacked. Using hardware wallet or air-gapped computer would be first thing. Unfortunately, not many cryptocurrencies are supported by hardware wallets, but a few of the most popular are. It is almost impossible to brute-force today's encrypted wallets. Usually password is exposed due to compromised software.

Of course I'm afraid of hackers! I think all the owners of crypto currency should be afraid of them and try to protect their savings.

Afraid. I am paranoid. Depends on the coin, but I try to use offline generated wallets. And I try to be careful. For examle, I don't click on any link, and when I need to open it, I use a dedicated VM with sandboxie for it.

Year or two ago, I wasn't affraid that much, but last year when almost every coin got +1000% gain. I became very affraid. I moved all of my coins out of exchanges into their wallets on separate PC, with only Windows and internet connection on it. For major coins like btc, neo and ether, I use nano ledger. I find this the most propriate way for my needs, because I'm not day trader.

I use a completely different computer for my crypto... Which never accesses anything else. But for DO, I run a paper wallet to protect my coins from others (and myself)

I think everyone is afraid and threatened specially of what hackers can do to their respective accounts or wallets, though it's alarming we can rest assure that admins and staffs are doing their best to illuminate those kind of issues and protect their loyal client.

Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?
actually hackers can steal the contents of the wallet because of the negligence of each user itself. lack of precision and not careful in securing his wallet. such as not using 2FA for extra security, using a password that is easy to recognize, enter social media sites that ask to enter your e-mail.
fear is there, back to each user. if we know how to avoid our hackers will be safe. Perestas act if we make the slightest mistake. so staying alert and being careful is the key to being able to avoid hackers.

I'm not afraid of hackers for the fact that I'm using a hardware purse. Recently, once again, there was a hacker attack on the MEW. Those who used hardware wallets as a Trezor - did not suffer in any way.

I do not think that we should be afraid. But you do not need to forget about hackers and elementary actions to protect your cryptocurrencies.

if you are in the it industry, well i think you have preventive measures to minimize the possibility of a hack. but for us normal people, i would suggest that put your assets on a hardwallet like ledger nano though it is not 100% hackproof, it will less the possibility of a loss.

You should always think with your own head! Pay attention to where you enter private keys! It is also worth considering the installation of an operating system with a very high degree of protection. Create a backup of your data!

In some way yes, since I have never ever put so much effort into my operational security before crypto. Now, I think it is quite hard to catch my stuff.
