Its no longer news that an ICO in Japan has lost over $400 million to hackers. They promised to pay back investors who invested in their ICO. Thsi is a huge loss. After I read that news, I began to wonder. How safe is Bitcoin and Other altcoins? What measures should we take to avoid being hacked ?
The best thing we can do is always enable 2fa, do not used our devises in a public places, do not click any suspicious link because there are so many hackers use this kind of tricks, Do not trust anyone to know your private key or password. Even the 2fa is vulnerable to the hackers, we saw last time when a reputable exchange was attempted to hack where 2fa was on and despite there was no problem for the hackers to transfer 10 BTC and some other coins to a different wallet. I think the only solution is to not to leave your crypto assets on any of the exchange. Prefer to keep cryptocurrency in cold wallets. The only way to stay safe from the hackers.

As you said, the safest option is to store in cold wallet, but make sure the cold wallet is robust and durable, if it's broken, what's the use? personally I'd prefer hardware wallet tho in this case.

Hackers is everywhere and even we avoid them they do it always hacking again and again. We cannot blame the ico who hack of a hacker because nobody wants to stolen their money. Hackers is smart even 2fa is easy to hack so we need a extra careful for every we do especially in transaction and anything.

I don't know about these people who have lost all their funds from hacks but I just use 2fa and metamask for my tokens and everything still works fine for me. People just need to be equipped with the right knowledge and I guarantee that they won't be hacked or again for others.

security with 2fa just to secure your account only. what if you have invested in the exchange or on the ICO. and the exchanger or ICO has been hacked? you will lose assets if their dev. does not replace your losses.

Bitcoin was so risk I mean it's unpredictable also, so you might be careful on what do you invest or what do you transaction. No one will take responsible of it, but for me personally I'm not going to invest all of my assets in crypto world, I might be make some real bussines in real life to make my assets safe from the hackers.

What many of you may fail to realize is that cryptocurrency itself, Bitcoin itself, has never been hacked. People claim collission but have not been able to prove anything. Others claim supercomputers by 2025 but they don't realize the network will get even stronger by that time with hashpower doubling every year.
It isn't crypto you need to worry about but your own devices and online habits.

First and the simplest rule is "never reveal and share your private keys on online platforms". Get an offline computer and store private keys and private informations on it. Never use same email and same passwords to log in. Never click untrusted links. Be carefull about phishing , always check web address before log in.

It is safe as long you are not in a phising site and you are not giving away your private key. If there is other methods like using keylogger or some virus then avoid downloading some suspicious .exe files then your digital assets are safe. Try some 2FA methods, by this methods your funds are more safe than using just one login method (e.g. passwords).

No one is really safe. We're now talking internet here generally. Regardless of the site you're staying at, it always has the risk of being hacked. Hackers aren't sleeping for daisies. They will always exploit the site's script and will take whatever is in it, but the degree of how safe you can be depends on what instruments do you use in the cryptocurrency. Do you use EtherDelta as a wallet and exchanging platform? The vulnerability of hacks is when people misuse the sole purpose of the site just because it offers the same indirect service as what they have. Like in EtherDelta where you can put your MEW wallet in it, as long as your MEW is there, hackers might attack anytime and you're all gonna be at loss. If you want to be safe in cryptocurrency, just make sure that you're the only one handling it and supervising it. You can't trust anyone in the internet regardless of how much you know them. Greed is waiting in the corner.
Actually you are definitely right. Everything that exist in this world has the fate of not being safe but it depends on how he handle his/her life. Hackers is all over the world stealing what they need and what they want but hackers do only focus on the weakest link and weakest account in the security chain. That's why we are also created to keep ourselves safe and keep our side to be more vigilant to protect our accounts from hackers because our safety doesn't happen by accident.

Well, hackers are always and everywhere it can hack your account if there is something wrong with your IP address and avoid those strange internet update which the target is your email accounts ilke google account and etc. please do not entertain that kind of unusual way. Lastly do not reveal your wallet address in some places or ect.

There are so many hackers nowadays that is why it is very dangerous to give your information to an untrusted or unknown person because they may hack your account and steal all of your money in just a minute. We are not really sure if our bitcoins and altcoinsare safe inside our wallet, we should be sure that no one would never knows about our accounts.

I think there is many ways to avoid scammers because there are too many things that will help us to get them in fact there are good scammer that will help us to locate them and get the money that they taken from any different ico's but its too expensive to do that.

Even if you do exactly what you say, you can still be attacked easily by hackers because anyone is a hacker, they will not be simple, they will always find ways to exploit all the mistakes, holes and information about the data we have. As long as we still have connections online, we will never escape them, although we can use a hard wallet to make things safe but sometimes it will bring some inconvenience in the transaction, so what we can do is try to limit the amount of crypto on the exchange, turn on all security, and divide our assets into several parts then put in different places, finally prayer

Everything related to the internet can be hacked, and this is one of the weaknesses of crypto. So users should be more vigilant and careful in managing it. But there are ways to reduce or avoid this risk of hacking. Like using a wallet that has a good quality of protection or use more than one wallet. That way I'm sure is widely used by many users here, it is good to minimize the loss or if there are things that are not expected to happen, there are still some assets you can use in other wallets. And always keep the privat keys well and always make backups. I think nowadays many wallets that have increased security so it is more safe to use, you can choose it.

I honestly agree to you.... How could we know if we are away from hackers and other person who has a negative motives here.... Today that problem is the most common problems of a lots person.... We can't predict what will happen to us in the future so we need to be always aware about it and also we need to know how to prevent from being a victims of this wrong doing.... But still bitcoin is safe in our wallet as long us we didn't exploit and show the private information about our account and electronic wallet we will still safe.... We are always expecting that BiTcoin will continue to develop its security....

Its up to the person how he/ she manage how to protect his/her self from hackers. Hackers will do anything just to steal money from other people. And because were in digital world right now they can easily attack thier victim without noticing them.
