I would like to start by saying that although I first hated the new system I ended up seeing a lot of potencial in it.
You can read my thoughts on the new system Here. It will also help you understand why I decided to create this thread.

I'm not sure this is the right place to put this thread, but I will be giving out my sMerit, based on the Topics and Posts linked here, so this seems like the right section for it.

How will this work?
- As I explained in the link above (this one), I expect users to post here new topics or posts, based on my areas of interest. I expect to be able to engage in real discussion with the users that created that content. If I like what I read I will of course participate in the discussion, and award my sMerit points.

- Users can also post their own personal areas of interest.
I cant guarantee I will participate in those but maybe other users will, so if I don't consider them as spam, I will leave them in the thread.

- I will also "pin" top Topics, on the second post of this thread (also organized by areas of interest).

- This will be a self moderated thread, so I will delete posts that I consider to be spam.

- I will only keep this thread active as long as I have sMerit points to give, so if I ever run out of sMerit I will lock the thread until I can gather some more.

Why am I doing this?
- I'm running this service out of convenience.
- It will be a lot easier for me to keep track of good quality Topics based on my personal areas of interest.
- This thread will probably create a small group of users, connected by similar taste for certain topics.

My areas of Interest
Bitcoin (adoption, regulation, Lightning Network development, social impact)
Trading (focused on real market analysis)
Sports Betting (mainly football, tennis and basketball)
Poker (hand analysis, good house bonus and tournaments)

hey i seen this thread and we seem to be interested in similar areas...
in my spare time i like to do sports gambling ( ufc, nba, nfl )
also like to play poker tournies some nights 40-50 mans where 8 people tend to cash out

and im very much into crypto long term holding and ICO flipping... where should i post topics just in this thread or link you to threads ive already commented on?? cheers Smiley

Well I'm looking for good threads with good discussions about those topics. If you like poker and sports betting, I would like to see threads where users discuss poker strategy and betting strategy. For example, they show a few hands and explain how they played that hand and why they made those decisions. They can just discuss general poker strategy as well (like blind steel, continuation bets, position play, how to react to flop raises, donk bets, etc.)

For sports betting I would like good threads where users discuss their game analysis, and betting strategies (bankroll management, etc). Not like those tipping betting threads, where users just post their tips or make vague explanations on why they are taking that bet.

If you already know any threads like that, just post them here. If not, you can create one and hopefully more users will join and we will get a good discussing going about those topics.

I have seen a few services pop-up like this, but what is cool is that you and the other provider(s) are not in competition with one another. You are working towards the same goal, offering similar services for the betterment of the community and people that are deserving of merit. That being said, if anybody is interested in the original version of this service feel free to head : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2819141.msg28866078#msg28866078

This way you could even submit your post to both services, or even more of these review services if you feel it necessary. This would give you the best chance to receive the merit you deserve for the posts you believe to be your best.

I'll submit a few of my posts as well, so that I am not simply coming in here to throw around information that everybody may already have and potentially nobody cares about.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2807763.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2845863.msg29534672#msg29534672

The first is a service I offer, the other two are simply replies that I believe to be informative and helpful. Although I'm not sure how you will perceive them, so I leave them at your judgement.

cool man sounds good... well i will try to look around for those and link them here or even start my own thread
tbh i use another forum for sports gambling that i think youd enjoy  , but not sure if im even allowed to link other sites here??

I think it would make more sense if you linked those sites in a thread used for sports gambling. Like I said before, if you can't find a good thread for discussion, feel free to create your own thread, and manage it the way you want.

Hey brother, I saw that you're interested in poker hands analysis, I am also a poker player where, can I find these poker threads?

Right now I don't know of any threads with real poker analysis in this forum. Maybe it's because poker is still not very popular in "crytpo gambling". So if you want, you can start your own thread and post it here. Maybe other users will join us in the discussion there.

That being said, if anybody is interested in the original version of this service feel free to head : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2819141.msg28866078#msg28866078

Thanks for sharing this. I will put this link in my thread. It's a little different from what I'm trying to do here (since I just want to find topics with good discussion from certain areas of interest that I have), but this is definitely a very good service that will probably help users that come to this thread and don't find what they are looking for, and could probably find it there.

I'll submit a few of my posts as well, so that I am not simply coming in here to throw around information that everybody may already have and potentially nobody cares about.

I will definitely put the first link on this thread, as I think this is very important for cryptocurrencies development. I do have some questions though, but I will make them on your thread. Thanks for sharing.

I will be deleting the other posts. Not saying they are good or bad posts, and I even gave merit to one of them, but I will not add the link to that post/thread because it was not what I was searching for.

Meanwhile, here is a link i would love to propose

1. A thread about QuestionAuthority merit activity, because he is the top 1 now
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2947171.msg30272338#msg30272338

2. A thread about how people feels about merit system in the first weeks
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2822349.msg28909933#msg28909933

Both topic filled with statistic chart that i made by myself. I did this because i wanted to know about people takes on merit, and wanted to change them to be more positive on this merit system.

High guys, just finished reading your posts, and I still need to analyze some threads, but didn't quite got the time. I gave merit to a few posts, even though I will not add those threads the list in this thread (2nd and 3rd post of this thread). I enjoyed reading the posts, and will probably participate in the discussion, as soon as I finish reading the thread, if I still have anything to to say about it, but I will not "pin" those threads here.

I will add athanz88 threads here, because they are very high quality, and I enjoyed seeing the stats. Interested to see how they change as people get used to the new system. It would probably be nice if he kept a history, instead of just updating them, so we could see that evolution.

I will also add mrelich thread here. The list was useful to me, and it could be to other users as well. As I said I enjoy trading, and privacy coins are usually good projects, so it's a nice list for me to look at, and try to find more information about those projects.

I will also pin one of the threads of snowblack and Schultz88, because I really like trading, and although those threads don't seem very active now, it's worth trying, because I was searching for something like that. The thread about indicators is a bit spammy, so I don't know if I will keep it. The idea is good, because indicators are important in trading, but most users posting there are not really explaining anything, so I don't know if that will work.

I deleted a few posts, nothing wrong with them, and I even gave merit to some of them, but it was not what I was looking for, and they are to circumstantial, so I won't leave them here are well, otherwise this thread will be hard to follow.

Thanks for participating, I will keep waiting for more.

Thanks berrymenalo, it has good information, and it could be of good use to other users that don't quite understand how coin distribution works in the crypto ecosystem. I think you could make your information even better, if you added a few links with ICO and Airdrop alerts, since this way, they would not just know the difference between ICO and Airdrops, but they could also keep an eye on the actual dates of Airdrops, and get access to some ICO statistics.

Hello Bolt Brownie I would like to try sharing some of my posts and feel free to evaluate these.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2931409.msg30116866#msg30116866

I will accept any decisions you'll make. Thank you in advance.

I did merit one of the posts, because it was a decent attempt to debunk the false argument that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme. Unfortunately a lot of people are miss-informed and for some reason choose to stay that way instead of searching for reliable information. You presented simple arguments that might help in that fight.

By the way, since you seem to enjoy participating in the fight against the misconceptions that rule the crypto space, I think you would like to participate in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2865338.0
Fee free to step by, and help the "fight".

(I will not pin any of the threads, because they are not what I'm looking for. I will also be deleting to post to keep this thread organized.)

Thanks for sharing, I've read your post and it's a discussion I will probably be interested in participating. Can't do it right now, because I need to read the thread to see how the discussion is going, but I intend to do it later. Thanks for sharing.

@A Confused Shoe thanks for sharing. I did like your post, but the interest in fantasy sports never grew in me. I would give merit to your post, but I need to be picky, since I don't have that much merit to spent.

^^ Needs more paragraphs I think to be readable and more digestible.   Post and then edit out any rambling sentences if you can avoid it, correct spelling if at possible.  Chrome has an ok spell checker and you can just google the word to check often also.

It might just be me and my poor attention span but I think people prefer each strata to the argument to have a clear space in between the paragraph layout.    They may end up reading just the middle or end of what you have written before being interested enough to come back and digest the post if you are making a good point Smiley

No worries, thanks for giving those threads a look!

Since I'm pretty interested in sports betting strategy and didn't find anything recent in bitcointalk, I started the following two threads:

1) Pros/cons in betting lines earlier vs. later (closer to scheduled start time):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3033400.msg31206049#msg31206049

2) Adjusting your betting unit size based on your current bankroll - Sports Betting (bankroll management)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3035512.msg31225418#msg31225418

Hope you'll join our discussion if you find either (or both) interesting!
