I do not think this will happen. We will be lucky if Bitcoin ever gets back to it's previous ATH of 20k USD.I think that pump was created by the big boys and the media to make all the Newbies buy into Bitcoin so they could dump all their bitcoin they were holding the last few years. Everyone was saying that Bitcoin will hit 50k and all sorts but in effect while they were shilling Btcoin and all those so called experts, they were in effect dumping while everyone else was buying. The Bitcoin rally I believe is well and truly over, at least for the next few months.  I can't see any positive market sentiment right now.

Allow me to disagree with you. It seems to me that we will see the price of $ 20,000 per bitcoin this spring (even 25,000). Bitcoin will return very quickly. But $ 100,000 for one bitcoin this year I think we will not see. If by the end of the year there will be $ 50,000 it will be just fine. Although this market is crypto-currency. And here everything can be anything.

I hope you are correct but I think Bitcoin will go down to around the 6k USD support level, that will be soon tested maybe in a week maximum from now if we cannot hold the 8k usd support. This is going to be fairly long drawn out. I do hope you are correct and that I am wrong. I am just playing devil's advocate here and looking at it from the worst perspective seeing the current market emotional make up. I am holding predominantly all my portfolio but will probably cash in 10% of it now so I still stay ahead and leave the rest in in case of a new bull run, either way I will not be in loss.

This will create a shortage of bitcoins, since the emission is limited.

Lol i remember we were all like this last year. Having speculations of how 10k would be the highest we can get for 2017 and all that. If the bounce from this correction is the same magnitude as the drop, i think we have a chance though its a long shot.

Exactly, he is estimating too much high value within the short period of time, maybe 50k$ is possible by the end of the year but for everything, we have to move according to the Bitcoin prices. Now everybody is treating the market as the negative way, so it might take time to recover the values.

Well, for me about this topic and to the subject creator i will disagree about spectation reaching bitcoin  to $100,000 USD. This year and almost over to the usual rate compared on december 2017 having $20K. It would rather be 50% increase of the total value in if wd base on a previous year.

If im going to give mine , for me it will never happen that year , as you see bitcoin price is still fluctuating , even blockchain gain so much popularity and cryto industry is still good , it will take time to reach a hundred thousand dollar and it can never be happen this 2018 . This is too much to expect for this year because a $100,000 is impossible to reach because just compare the price of bitcoin right now and the price prediction like that, it is too far to reach and i think that it will never become possible to even reach at least 75% of that price and we will just be roaming around 30% of that price prediction this year.

It is difficult to expect the price of bitcoin to see another rally in this year as there is regulatory news coming up from every corner,so it is very difficult to see a rally which could take the price now,the block chain technology will be introduced in different industries but how does that impact the price of bitcoin.We will see the price soaring to those levels but it might take a long time.

It depends on whether the FUD that brought Bitcoin down in the last days will continue to spread and whether there will be and continues a rejection of crypto currencies by the governments of under developed countries. Bitcoin definitely won't hit 100k by 2018, but it may well regain 20k and up to 40k after western culture countries will compensate for Chinese panic selling.

Why not? It was 3K last year and it hits over 17K end of last year.

Probably not going in 100k in 2018 the value of bitcoin now is almost 8k perhaps it will reach in 50-60k this year. If many company around the wolrd accepting bitcoin perhaps it will more valuable to us.

It is possible, but due to the whole issue of regulations by the most important governments it is difficult, but I believe that once it reaches 20k again, if it can reach 100k

I do believe that Bitcoin and some other good crypto coins will grow very high but not sure whether bitcoins can reach 100K within this year. This year all governments are behind regulating all crypto investments so now on prices may not go up very fast but it will take more time to reach that target price. I'm very confident in a few years bitcoin may reach that price.

I said bitcoin would be $ 100000 in 2018 but actually with the tremendous fluctuations of bitcoin in the past few days the bitcoin price reached $ 100,000 is extremely difficult. Currently a bitcoin is only $ 7000 and is still showing signs of further decline, which happens because China has just announced bitcoin ban and tighten the trading floor. It is also due to profit taking psychology of Asian investors before their holidays.
