I'd also recommend anyone specially newbies to stick with the popular exchanges for all your trading. Though coin to coin exchange in a specific coin could be done with dex but if you are into using trading to generate profit, good exchanges like binance have better options. Not only it have one of the lowest fees, the fees keeps on decreasing as your volume increases as it rewards the high volume members with VIP membership. The API support too is fantastic without any issue.

I only use binance and kucoin exchange.  I had experience using the coss exchange, but for some unknown reason, my profile was blocked.  Binance works great, support is fast and hasn't let down in 4 years.  Sometimes I use Idex and latoken.  There were no problems with them either.

It is up to you to choose a centralized exchange or a decentralized exchange, but the fact is that exchange hacks are more common with centralized exchanges. Although that does not mean that decentralized exchanges are safe from hacking, the data says that decentralized exchanges are safer.

I permit myself to really insist... It's really about the KEYS... you have to own the "wallet.dat" or what ever it is named in the chains, otherwise... you don't, you don't own the coins.

I can understand it too like Valzador said, it's up to you. In a CEX, they are in charge of keeping those keys safe. Maybe you can't do better than them in this regards, however they are a bigger target for opponents...

I am sure there are DEX in which the user doesn't really owns the keys... and not only hacks, but "never ending maintenance" or "temporary withdrawal suspension" to outright coin or identity theft. Of course, in the DEX universe it's still early beta... I wait too for the big hack of a major one...

Be safe, use both ! At least on DEX no one can kick you for your "politics", skin colors or what ever aml/kyc regulations...

Straight up with my hands down, I give Binance the credit. There's a good reason why this exchange is the one leading this industry.  This is a latest review discussion whether Binance is still the top exchange (source here). The conclusion from this so far is that it still is.

What I really like about Binance is how they integrated all the Earn options, that's the best thing and one important feature that I've seen missing or incomplete from other exchanges like KuCoin.

I personally prefer to use trading platform from Binance, because in my opinion Binance is the best exchange for now and of course the trading volume on Binance exchange is also very high, so it will be very easy for me to trading on Binance exchange and besides that Binance exchange also has a mobile application that makes it easier for me to trading anywhere.

Since 2017 i was good review in IDEX but later them i gonna take good happing binance. Because there have mobile apps which is best opportunity for me with no need kyc for Withdraw little amount. For this time if you ask me which platform best for your trading then I can said binance ,kucoin , BitForex, gate, biki, mxc.
