It's like comparing the exchange rate of a pair of euros and a dollar with the value of gold. Gold in this example is Fiat. If gold rises, then the euro and dollar exchange rate are lower relative to gold at the same time
Well said and I share your opinion here. It is quite obvious that altcoins are completely dependent on bitcoin in many aspects due to the widespread popularity of bitcoin etc, but bitcoin also is dependent on many altcoins in many ways. As altcoins like Ethereum, Litecoin etc become more and more popular, more users will start showing interest in bitcoin as well attracting more investors towards the crypto market which would obviously help increase the value of the crypto market at the end of the day. Legit altcoins like Ethereum are what matter here(Not the plethora of scam coins).

How exactly do altcoins gain value? There are so many altcoins out there and honestly you can see connection among these in terms of the drop and rise of price.
Not all altcoins comes from the bitcoin, but all the altcoins were created based to the original bitcoin's code. Most of the new altcoins are being based commonly to ethereum's platform which has some smartcontracts and dapps applications.

The whole crypto space is now an echosystem, and a quite strange one. Since value is a matter of perception of a shared reality, value of different altcoins tend to change in a sort of tune, all different coins behave as a cloud, a swarm, and faith in the price rises and fades for the whole echosystem. This phenomenon should be studied further.

In a normal market, if bitcoin grows some other coins should fall, and viceversa, because this would be the measure of their relative value.
But actually, bitcoin value measure the general trust toward ALL cryptocurrencies (please note that the vast majority or people just herd something about bitcoin and have no idea of the altcoin existence), so inevitably its growth or its descent influence directly all the other coins.

Some of altcoin depends on bitcoin and some of it is independent to btc, it's eth. Altcoins value was gain through users and developers, the rise of the price value is affected when the flow or circulation of the supply is good. Holding is also the key that's why community also affects this. Having a good community and communication, it can make a value to the altcoin.

Altcoins are created based in the original source code of bitcoin created by satoshi,so this altcoins has only one based source code which is bitcoin's code. But it doesnt mean that they are the same, bitcoin was the foundation of all the cryptocurrency which means bitcoin has started all of this then these altcoins came from nowhere.

I'm not sure about the fact, but I believe altcoins were dependent on bitcoin. This is what getting reflected on the market of each and every altcoin. Every alternate coins can be bought by both Bitcoin and Ethereum, this means that they are based on it and they did not come from it. They are all based on different blockchain technologies for each of their own platform and programs.

Bitcoin is the king of the world of cryptocurrency. Altcoin is a child of bitcoin. bitcoin prices fluctuate and tend to affect the price of altcoin. so between altcoin and bitcoin are highly related.

I suppose every alternative coins are based on the form of bitcoin. The fact that it is alternative its features are somekind or most likely patterned from bitcoin. This altcoin somehow innovates or at times made for specialization according to its value and usefulness towards any transactions or wherever iy may be used. Generally, the mother of all altcoins is bitcoin.

Bitcoin and altcoins use the same technology which is the blockchain technology. It is an online ledger which is immutable that makes it safe and effective for transacting online. Now, I see many different applications of this technology and bitcoin is one of the application which is for remittances.

Altcoin and bitcoin are two different things. Bitcoin is like an individual and altcoins is like a general term.
There are many altcoins out there. There are ethereum, litecoins, dogecoins and any other coins that you heard of.
They are all coins but Bitcoin has so much more value than altcoins.

From the part of yes. But almost all the altcoins have their own uniqueness. Bitcoin created this sphere, created an idea. The others modernized it and presented their more advanced products.

Altcoins are not from BTC but they depend upon BTC.BTC is the father of crypto market, suppose if there were no Bitcoin then surely there were no Altcoins. Its usually seen that when BTC price goes upward most of the altcoins price also goes up and some goes down.BTC is the price setter for Coin market cap.when you receive payment in crypto its mostly BTC or ETH,so in this respect we can say that altcoins dependent on BTC in many respect no doubt how many successful, innovative projects are going in their support.

US stocks are valued in USD.  Altcoins are kind of like stocks of the crypto world, although it often also has a transactional value.  In the crypto world, altcoins are often transacted in Ethereum and Bitcoin so they are valued in the those crypto currencies.  The more buyers of a coin will cause the price to increase, and visa versa.

One altcoin to check out is the ICO for RLCoin, an enterprise solution for loyalty: www.rlcoin.io.  The product has existing traction with 250 clients and partners in Europe and Asia.

The price of a currency is the measure of the trust that people have in that currency.
In this case, as bitcoin represents in public perception all criptocurrencies, its value measure the general trust toward the cryptoworld.
Is that simple.
