How exactly do altcoins gain value? There are so many altcoins out there and honestly you can see connection among these in terms of the drop and rise of price.

Whether altcoins were from bitcoin or not. I'm not sure about the fact, but I believe altcoins were dependent on bitcoin. This is what getting reflected on the market of each and every altcoin. Upon the same when the price of bitcoin drops, automatically the value of altcoins too dropping low.

But there are some coins which can withstand the changes of BTC. One of the most popular is ETH.

Bitcoin is the father , altcoins are the sons . No matter bitcoin or altcoins , they gain value because they use the tech of blockchain , blockchain is the future.

Alternate coins are probably based on Bitcoin or they may also be based on Ethereum. Since both of these tokens can be bought and sold thru this mediums. Some alternate coins are supported by a Bitcoin backup which will help them recover from unexpected failures. Every alternate coins can be bought by both Bitcoin and Ethereum, this means that they are based on it and they did not come from it. They are all based on different blockchain technologies for each of their own platform and programs.

Day by day many investors are investing in altcoin continuously in the crypto market. But any problems are created in the Bitcoin value automatically most of the investors are panic to our investment so majority of the investors are exchange our investment it will affect all the altcoin. This is temporary issues in the crypto market .

it gains value because the market bought it using bitcoins. so if bitcoin value drops the price of altcoin also drops. some coins will withstand that though.

How exactly do altcoins gain value?
Altcoins are gaining value because of the investors, when people are investing to those coins then its adding to the market cap of it. And when it has a market cap, it is distributing its value base on its supply.
There are so many altcoins out there and honestly you can see connection among these in terms of the drop and rise of price.
They are all connected and depending to bitcoin but its hard to assume the real market factor of it. Before when bitcoin is dropping, alts are rising but now its different. When bitcoin is dropping, majority of altcoins are dropping too.

What I know is altcoins were born because bitcoin started it, and so cryptocurency becoming more stronger. Since bitcoin is the first currency and Stablish every price of altcoin is dependent on it that is why all altcoins price are affected every time that bitcoin decreases its value.

I would not say that all. I saw that bitcoin was falling in price, and some altcoins were growing up, why?

Whether it is the alt coins or whether it is the bitcoin everyone gets their value from the initial investment and the upcoming investment into them. For example, ICO's are launched in the market then interested investors will join the project as shareholder and thus they will put some money into it. After the funds are raised and project value is calculated, developers will put some value on it such that they will decide a hard cap below which no one will be able to sell the coins making sure that they will be left out with some funds which can be used fro the further development. Once the development for their products and services is completed they can just raise the value according to the gains from the product that they sell or get untitled with. Generally thats what happen in the market and gives all the fluctuation, prices etc.

Altcoin is 1 coin, BTC is also 1 coin and both prices are fluctuating. The actual value of the coin was just exactly when you convert it to dollars (or / EUR / CNY / JPY etc.)
BTC is the eldest brother of the coin market. if BTC strong depreciation, this time altcoin price usually drops . at the moment, if invested in altcoin we were gross loss. Similar to other cases

As everybody was saying that bitcoin is the father and yes Altcoins was the sons, that is the fact even though they have different ICO's and developers they all are using the blockchain technology, And we can see if not for bitcoin other Coins doesn't have value and when bitcoin pump so much every other coin would do, And the same as pumping when bitcoin drop its value other coins will sure be on the red zone like what we does see right now.

Most probably from the basic investment. The drop in and rise in the value could be related to many factors such what is the volume of the investment for the last 24 hours or through the whole financial cycle. It could also depend on the good and bad news for that specific alt coin project. Fro example, if founder makes some announcement which is showing the projects development is going on in the positive direction then surely it will attract more investors into it and thus can make huge difference really. It also depends on the bitcoin volume because alts are anyway traded against the BTC itself. If that market is not doing well then surely the effect can be see clearly on the alts section too.

yes you are right there are some altcoins that are from bitcoin but not just bitcoin alone which creates altcoin but ETH and some coins also create altcoin, altcoin is usually used for stats based on digital currency.

How they do gain value? Then its simple. They do gain value because theres a demand and people who do decide to bought it. They are not relying on bitcoin price itself since they do have different market but most of the time those coins are really tied up with bitcoin when it comes to conversion. Price movement might be identical for sometime but they are not actually correlated to each other.

Well said. Altcoins, like everything else is as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it.
There is connection between altcoins and Bitcoin because you can buy/sell altcoins mostly by paying with Bitcoin.

So if people sell Bitcoin to buy altcoins then altcoin prices will rise. If people buy Bitcoin by selling altcoins, then Bitcoin price will rise. If people sell their Bitcoin for cash, then Bitcoin price will drop.

As simple as that:)

The main currency in cryptocurrency markets is Bitcoin. Its price tend to effect altcoin prices. Alts usually found Bitcoin runs and Bitcoin tends to fund alt runs. So their connection is obvious.

Indeed if at first glance both look almost the same, they include digital currency, but much different,
Altcoin will not be able to stand without bitcoin while bitcoin is able to stand without altcoin,
Altcoin is arguably an alternative coin of bitcoin,
The purpose of making altcoin is to cover the weakness of bitcoin,
The weakness is the limited number of bitcoin in circulation at this time.
