I think we need to add the condition that BTC must stay above 1K for a reasonable amount of a time... An intraday bubble from 500 to 1k and back doesn't count.

our current plan is to play it this way: everything should get armed and ready to rumble within the next coming weeks and months. as soon bitcoin reaches 1000 $ and stays there for 5 days in a row (bitstamp $ 24 h average) this will be our trigger. since everything has been set up during the waiting period, after ignition triggers we will only need 6 -8 additonal weeks to actually unleash this monster.

How about 30 day moving average stays over for a week?
Personally I still like linking it to IMF SDRs or bitcoin / gold parity, rather than US Dollars.  Bitcoin is more global than dollars.

But hey, we could throw a few more events out there.

I'm all for Bangkok, an alternative party for those who survive the German one would be great, maybe ask goat to set this up, if so I'm definitely in.

I think it started out this way, as the person who first suggested it is in Germany. I could be wrong. However, there are several other good reasons....

I mostly agree with your thoughts about escrow: at some point organizers will need control of the funds, otherwise they'd take huge personal risk, which is not acceptable.
