btw, is there a reason why you guys have chosen germany as the country?

I think it started out this way, as the person who first suggested it is in Germany. I could be wrong. However, there are several other good reasons....

Quote from: beetcoin
are they more friendly to bitcoins or something?

yes

I understand that Frankfurt may be the home of the ECB. Which makes this quite symbolic.

Hell, I don't know Frankfurt Germany from Frankenmuth Michigan. I'll drink it in any way it happens.

yes op lives in frankfurt/germany premise, which is the ecb headquarter. in addition

-germany was the first country to legally acknowledge bitcoin1

-there are no taxes on gains when buying/selling bitcoin.2 as an asset class bitcoin is treated here better than silver or stock

-you can order food at more than 7000 restaurants and pay via bitcoin3  (just in frankfurt you can choose from 85 restaurants ! http://www.lieferservice.de/essen-bestellen-darmstadt-frankfurt-am-main-60311)

-safe environment & frankfurt is top ranking in all kinds of "best-places-to-live" in germany.

the dome you see on the right is the frankfurt cathedral. the kaisers of the holy roman empire of german nations were coronated here. we should try to get THAT as our venue & invite max keiser and enthrone the guy...   Wink

We should plan on satellite parties as well, maybe we can use Slashdot meetup feature or it. Not everyone is welcome inside EU Wink

I think it is a girl masquerading as a gay. But I have been wrong before...

I met Rassah in San Jose. He's not a girl...

You lie.

I think it is a girl masquerading as a gay. But I have been wrong before...

You're most likely wrong. I've met him in Amsterdam.

You lie too. OMG, it's a conspiracy!!!  Shocked

Euro is worth more than the dollar. I see this party taking place when BTC hits $1,000, and taking place in Germany, the birthplace of the Euro, as a statement that says, "Hey you! That other world reserve currency! You're next!  Angry"

"Hey you! That other world reserve currency! You're next!  Angry"

Today I noticed that http://www.lieferservice.de/ accepts Bitcoin. Hey wtf do I need EUR anymore ? I think we will see high BTC prices beyond 1kEUR very soon.

Not knowingly. I _do_ misrememberate from time to time. Did we not speak in the 'ask anything about bitcoin' booth? (middle of the first row, near the drinking fountain, 'round the corner from Neft). Maybe somebody was impersonating you. Maybe somebody was impersonating me. I just don't know any longer.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

I will attend.

I propose that the first event of the evening should be a ceremonial burning of $1000, Gavin-style.

Bangkok is really a nice place - Lebua state tower is one possibility. But there are so many in this great city:
http://www.bangkok.com/top10-rooftop-bars.htm
http://www.bangkok.com/top-10-bangkok-dining.htm

Suggest a 1000 EUR party in Bangkok after the 1000 USD party as soon as BTC is stable over that level for 1 month or so.

Program could be:
 - meetup up and welcome time and coffee
 - dinner with presentation of different entrepreneurs
 - relaxation in a roof top bar with smalltalk
 - party night in a rented club

Big advantage - Bangkok is very near to China, India and all other Asian countries which are going to drive the world economy of the near future.
