Everybody, FYI, these days you can buy the ticket for free in 4 easy steps:

1.) Sell 4 BTC on your favorite exchange
2.) Wait until BTC price has dropped by 20% (takes 1-2 days on average)
3.) Buy 5 BTC for the fiat you got in step 1
4.) Buy the ticket for 1 BTC

So....... is there going to be music/entertainment/DJ?

no, this will be a silent hodling party.  Wink

expect international top act and a decent dj line up. if you have suggestions, please let us know.

what to expect
there will be a customer service (email) if you have questions you do not want to discuss in this thread. on the days around the party there will be a hotline available for you. once you step out the airport building there will be a shuttle service that brings you to your hotel and later to the venue (the driver will supply you with a mask if you don´t want to be exposed to media when entering the battlefield). at the party you will be welcomed like a celebrity, including stretch limo, red carpet, cheering fans... professional security will guard the event. inside there will be a public section, also open for media, maybe some booths where bitcoin projects and sponsors can be met and registration.
the larger section will be kept strictly private, non-commercial, no media, no cameras. a luxurious 5 star catering will spoil everyone until late, several bars will serve class a drinks, all kinds of booze all night long (all included). there will be artists, an international dj line-up on several floors and a main event with some superstar (suggestions for superstar/dj are welcome). expect a chill out area, and of course you be able to get online. the program will include an event concerning charity. the shuttle service will bring you back to your hotel (or directly to the airport when you are  serious party animal)

I got my ticket!  Grin

I'll see you there!

(My best guess) This spring. I hope I can make it, I've never been to Germany!

What about a sold-ticket-counter in the OP and on the website?

+1 for this, even though we can see the address in the blockchain it'd be a nice little convenience. No needs for daily updates on that just a On xxxxxx, x number of tickets sold.

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

well i´d say this is a good reason to travel  Cheesy
spring can be lovely here.

we will come up with a counter as soon as gained some traction with sales.
half price tickets are in the range of possibilities... one needs to just put a limit buy order for 1 btc at $ 500 and wait.

hope to meet you soon !

To save money on lodging, we should just have a giant slumber party. We can gossip, try on makeup, and compare our moobs (man boobs).

knowing myself I won't even need any accommodation lol  Grin

It's all bullshit. But bullshit makes the flowers grow and that's beautiful.

bought my ticket couple days ago wondering when the party would be... I thought the trigger had been pulled.

the I re-read OP

Quote
our current plan is to play it this way: everything should get armed and ready to rumble within the next coming weeks and months. as soon bitcoin reaches 1000 $ and stays there for 30 days in a row (bitstamp $ 24 h average) this will be our trigger.

ah, very good! So maybe my hope that it will take place when the weather is warm enough to dance on the roof will come true after all ;-)

EDIT: a question: what was the outcome of the discussion about being able to bring girlfriends/wifes at no cost? Wouldn't that at least dampen the gender-bias problem?

I can't wait for the party! A bunch of bitcoiners getting totally drunk together. I'd want to do this anytime!   Grin Also in case we get a special girl we get to have our own little hotel room? This is a very sweet deal indeed. Anyone who doesn't join us will most likely regret it.

Can't tell if serious.

That could be a large chunk of the overall budget, no?

If this was meant as a humorous comment, rather than a factual statement about accommodations, I'd ask you to be a bit more circumspect in your claims.

I realize you're putting in a large amount of work on this thing. However, at some level, you have a duty to not misrepresent what we may expect for our payment.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.
