Facebook have it new policy pertaining to initial coins offerings 'ICOs' . The policy specifically prohibits ads that promote ICO on it platform.
The banned is due to the fact there are so many companies who are advertising ICOs that are not currently operating in good standards and faith.
In the meantime, Facebook is encouraging people to report content that violates this new policy.
What effect do you think this will have on ICOs and future  of cryptocurrencies?

Grin The crypto community is strong enough these days and can resist it. It doesn't matter Google, Facebook or anyone else has decided to ban ads related to crypto. The other projects used this opportunity to promote their products. Pay attention to such products as desearch.com or matchico.com They are related to crypto. Besides, there exists a lot more.

There will be huge marketing problem when Facebook launch it own coin then blocked all ICO advertisement on their media, just imagine that a lot of information are flowing their then suddenly they will blocked it, marketing of ICO project will need to think for strategy to cover the loss.

Facebook and google don't really ban crypto related ad but they ban posting an unknown or unverified crypto relate site in other to protect their users due to a lot of crypto scam which happening simultaneously this days.

Yes, I noticed that I do not get blocked in Facebook, and I continue to do the companies and everything is fine, for me there is nothing that has not changed, but just started to weed out strange companies, it's probably even good.

The ban had a negative effect on BTC pricing, as we saw google and twitter also join the ban club later. But we saw the price of BTC going up again, a clear indication that BTC can stand on its own despite the ban from technology giants.

Potential investors who always use facebook as their means for social media or communications will not inform about project development created for ICOs.

Well, I think Facebook are trying to weed out the scam ICO's.

The policy specifically prohibits ads that promote those types of products and services “that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive practices,”

However, aren't Facebook also launching a coin of their own? Perhaps they don't want people to focus on other coins, just their own?

I think it is high time we develop a better social media platform for cryptocurrency that will serve our interest only and forget about those so called social media gurus who keep frustrating our business. Facebook ban cannot stop cryptocurrency from exploding to all the corners of the earth .Cryptocurrency will survive without Facebook.Facebook cannot stop the power in cryptocurrency.
I guess that is one thing we will end up seeing eventually anyway as development keep popping up. However, I really do not see much effect on the ICO market in general even with the ban and it is not like ICOs are not still making some waves. Also, I have been seeing some adverts, so it is not like it was just banned permanently, but it is still allowed for those who can at least verify their authenticity with some license documents to stand a chance and that stands for Google and others as well.

Whatever it is really does not matter as the market is still standing strong and there are so many other measures that can be used anyway and not like they are completely limited to social media adverts. The way some people are saying it though, it is not like some ICO adverts are not still running and all you have to do is to be able to show you are for real and not just some fake project looking out to scam the users.

This was done to clean up the space anyway, so I do not see it as something bad or an attack on the crypto world except for some who just love reading negative meanings to everything.

I recently used Credits banner as my wall paper on Facebook and it was automatically removed the next day and I got a subsequent message that I was posting spam, I do not know how long this ban has being going on but I do not think it is being known by most as Facebook is still a leading PR platforms for advertising start ups and ICOs. But if this ban fully takes effect then it would really affect the ICO advertising trends on social media as Facebook is one of the leading social media platforms.

Facebook, as a place where there are any and all people wasn't the best place to advertise ICOs anyway, so this won't influence crowdfunding process much. Apart from the specialized forums, like Bitcointalk, there are still Reddit and Quora Smiley

But a place where you find all kinds of people would also be a place to drop information of any kind for same to go viral. My concern is, I do not know why Facebook would make policy against even shared ref links. Could it be for some good reasons? But their policies statement hasn't state vivid reasons for such policy. At least I am yet to know their reasons.

There are still many ways to call investors' attention. I know that Facebook has a lot of active users but the whole internet does not revolve around it. There are still some sites like btctalk and telegram that ICOs can use. Youtube is also there whenever they want to promote on their own channel.

How can facebook affect the price? For what reason and application... Facebook need to balance everything that's why they need to banned crypto currencies/marketing for good reason and one of the main reason is to avoid all their customer to invest almost but not all in scam/fraud crypto projects. But you know, there still adds and facebook bounty campaign and it's hard to filter and clean it up for instant interval of time.

Since the Facebook has became the big social media nowadays we are seeing the people investing for giving promotion on Facebook featured ads. Still ICO projects go well without the help of facebook mate. I really understand that new comers will not be coming after the regulation implemented on facebook.
Then still I hope bounties are going well with the facebook promotion and everything.

Facebook have a lot of users...but I´m not sure that it was the best place to announce an ICO. The best way is to have activity in Reddit, Medium,  Twitter, Telegram and specialized forums like this one.  We are started to announce our ICO recently and the most of the messages that we are receiving with questions, sugestions or asking more information about us are from Twitter and Reddit users.

Yes facebook has high scope because now almost everyone is socially active and people are talking good part in using facebook to promote anything including bitcoin, so I think facebook is not going to ban bitcoin they are only banning the fake news posts related to bitcoin, people are spreading fake bad news about bitcoin using social media accounts and if facebook will ban bitcoin then of course people has millions of YouTube channels which will be used for this purpose.

I still believe most activities happens on telegram, even though ads work on targeted users of Facebook. The effect has not been much so far as most now use twitter and CMC ads to promote ICOs.

Yes I also believe that it do not have much effect on the ICOs if they will ban it as people are already sharing their projects on their profiles and on their groups and fan pages on facebook which is playing a vital role for promoting them on facebook. It bring more participants to the ICO when their ICO is promoted via word of mouth on the profiles of people.
