Merit system is not working, failed!

Stop complaining and write something useful. And use correct section of forum, what another merit whining thread doing in altcoin section?
If you are here just to earn something, then try to get your posts worth something and maybe you'll get merit. Maybe not, but it's a right to give smerit, not a rule. So let me repeat - stop whining and do something good or just don't focus on merit and continue to talk freely on forum.

Merit system is created for newbies who only intended to participate in campaigns, especially signature campaign and but doesn't know how to contribute to this forum, they only wanted to earn post so that they can fulfill the requirements of the campaign. But most of this people are only spammers.

Merit system is the way to discourage people to join signature campaign especially for newbies.

Thats my conclusion on this merit system, and I really think that it is working because only few newbies are posting and most of them are just joining Facebook campaigns and Twitter campaign

I get what they are trying to do, but I don't like the fact that because I am a newer user, I have a zero score, where accounts that are older already start with 100. I feel that's not really fair, We should all start on the same level and then the great replies will get more merit, and the spammers and poor replies won't receive anything.

Most of the people will say it sucks but few of the people here like me that just want to have more knowledge or to learn more about cryptocurrencies would say it is effective,from the past few weeks most of the spammers in the forum has lie low ,most of the shitposter who are posting nonsense from the past doesnt post anymore and for me merit is very effective.

You have gotten an example like this one. This is not my first time to see newbie is complaining about the merit system. Rather than make this thread and it may better for OP to discussing various topic in the various section too.

There is a lot of people are very active to discuss in here. I've seen some people always earn more and more merit.

But the result will depend on how vital our information to others.

Merit requirement in each rank is indeed too hard to achieve thats why theymos will definitely agree to adjust it or to be lowered so most of the new people here would have a chance to rank up,because most of the people doesnt want this new merit system but few others liked it because it prevents spamming in our forum.

The merit point is to prevent spammers and multiple account holders who just post anything to write quality post. Let all wait for some months before we can conclude is good or bad. To me is better and will force anyone to contribute constructively

I think the only way to stop scammer here is merit system. This is the best way to make posts of all users quality and beneficial. Some people before merit system was not put quality posts and just getting higher ranks without any handwork. But know only those who have ability to write quality posts will be get high rank while those who are unable to write quality posts will never get high rank. So we are appreciated this system.

The merit system is not working, look the merit points of people on the forum, it does not move (even for the more relevant posts), the forum established a system which was suppose to penalize newcomers flooding the forum with useless post, but the forum penalize itself, good luck everybody, If you think people will give you merit points for free you are mistaken.

If you really posting quality contents this wouldnt be a problem,if you are a shitposters like most of the people here you definitely has a big problem.Spam is one of the most relevant problem here in the forum,most of the shitposters are just doing what they want from the past few years thats why theymos started to think how can he regulate these people,merit system is now the main reason why most of these shitposters will try their best to post quality contents.

Indeed merit system is not working at all. We can go back to the old system and all of us will satisfied.

maybe now the merit system does not work well, but I believe the next few months merit system will work well and effective, because this is new so do not quickly take the conclusion give a chance merit system to show it.
I guess the people behind bitcointalk are not stupid to build a system that will make itself fail. So let's believe it and do not just complain. because a change will always need a process.

I think merit system is not a failure, but people are still trying to adapt to new things, I'm sure people will start to give merit to decent people, but I agree with you in one thing, people are racing more to create new posts, although not qualified, because just to get merit

I see this new system as a spammers remover and completion of the "ghost".
But there are still many who are stingy to give merit to a quality thread. Because they are scared if they aren't give merit back. Btw could it be those who give merit to a bad quality thread. Who have more than one account so they gave each other their own account.

System is not perfect yet, some good post were missed, some of lower quality were merited. Give it some time.
But overall this should stop rank farming.

Still you can read and search high quality content on the forum.
I really do hope that merit system will show itself as a filter and will remove tons of shit-threads and clone-threads.. or at least will make their amount lower.

Well merit was established to help us recognized which users are really providing constructive and qualitative posts so that those who are not deserving will not rank up because the increasing number of shit posters around here which is why I think the moderator created this kind of system, in which we should take on it as a challenge.

It was never about the merit, which perchance is a new implementation, attempting to improve the quality of responses and relevant information. These forums and threads are still an exchange of ideas and suggestions, where though deserving merit will be given, that should not be the focus of our responses.

Merit is given to those who deserve it. Did you make a thorough study on the current merit system that made you conclude that the system is not working? What is your basis or its just because you don't get merits on your posts that's why you concluded that the merit system is a failure. Its not even more than 2 weeks, give it a chance.
