I have a friend who bought bitcoin during this peak season. When the bitcoin price was 18-20k USD. Now he is sad and disappointed seeing that the current price has dropped to 50% and more and he is afraid he is going to lose all. In short he lost his hope and faith in bitcoin already. Has anyone here did the same as he did? If you did invest in that amount what did you do to your bitcoin, did you sell it or still holding it?

he bought bitcoin when it is so expensive and when the market plunges, he lost 50%, from the start, it is unlikely wrong timing and lack of knowledge when he bought bitcoin. but since he is new, it is ok, now is the time to buy and hold how much bitcoin he has left in his wallet. bitcoin is investment, investment is all about timing, buy when the price is low then sell when the price is high. basic rule in investments.

I am sorry to hear that. Tell your friend to hold them longer or suggest him to learn trading. Actually if he cut loss when the price is around $13000-$15000 then he has the chance to buy bitcoin at the price of $6000-$10000, of course he will get more bitcoin but the value is the same. Ask your friend to wait. Need brave, your friend should now that the risk in digital asset investment is very high.

Sepertinya sudah waktunya, kalau menurut saya lebih baik lump sum sekarang. 30/01/2024.

At that time, no one expected that the price would fall so much and I was among those people who bought it when it cost 14k and now looking at the current prices I regret that I did not wait

This is what happens when you invest based on your greed and nothing more, the price goes down and he already lost all faith in bitcoin, well if he could have waited a few months instead of entering the market in a hurry he could be able to buy bitcoin at these low prices and will most likely make a profit in the next months, so let this story be a warning for all of those investing in bitcoin just to make money.

If your friend invested on that high price. He should hold his bitcoin until the bitcoins price will recover. Tell him do not panic to much. Because panicking will lead him to wrong decision.
Oh brother this is hard to bear. We can feel the pain of such people who invested in bitcoins when they were like $20k and that was their mistake. Never ever invest in any coin unless the prices are found to be at lowest price according to the time era. Bitcoins were higher than and every wise person was advising not to go for bitcoins in terms of buying. Still, don’t panic brothers.

The main rule of investments in cryptocurrencies is to invest funds that you can afford to lose. I hope bitcoin price will reach new heights and your friend will return his money and even make some profit.

I think there should be a lot of people who buy BTC at this price!

If your friend doesn't have a financial problem, I suggest holding on to BTC.

BTC will go back slowly, now BTC excavation is very difficult. In the long run, BTC price will surely reach a high level of hate!

For the ones who invested their money at that time, this present situation is no doubt very much difficult for them to sustain but the thing is that the only hope which they are left with is none other than holding of their coins while praying for the market value to increase in the coming days as until and unless the market value will not increase, they will not be able to get anything fruitful at the end.

It's feel bad when you know that you lose almost 50% but do you think if you sell now you will become satisfied or happy? No, it's impossible! So, better to hold wait wait for the prefect time, don't sell until you know that you have still lose. Hodl no matter. Because as long as you hold, as long as you never sel you will never become the loser. Hold guys untill it's moon.

I would not support his idea of buying bitcoin during the ATH. However, we shouldn’t really judge him; maybe he thought it would go up even higher at the time. What’s done is done; he’ll just have to make sure to HODL until the value recovers to avoid more losses.

If u hold it, it's a money you can't use
If u sell now, it's a money lost

Sad but.. U might as well just wait for  break even or when you can make more from it

Even with a very high expectation for growth, it is always risky to buy a coin when it is on an unknown territory of prices. Whoever did it, I hope they did not panic sold later as that would complete the mess.

I know few people that invested in bitcoin when the price was $18 000. They really regret after price fall on $8000. I ask the why they invest and all of them tell the same reason. They hear on the TV News how bitcoin rise for $5000 to $18800 in just two month. So they think that this will be really easy earned money if they invest in bitcoin. They lose 50% in one month , atleast most of them became "hodler" now.

My friend had invested a small amount in the level of 15.000 USD. Nowadays can not be said to be in harm because he has lost half of his money but has not yet sold the Bitcoins in hand. If we think about the commissions the stock markets we use, we need to see at least USD 18,000 to earn the income. I do not want to go through this drop without noticing the opportunity and getting some more Bitcoin.

Although the price is fall  but they don't need to worry. Bitcoin is still in the beginning of adoption. I suggest them who buy or invest their money in bitcoin when it price 18k-20k to hold their bitcoin for a few more months. I am sure that this bear trend will be over. It's price will rise again.

I can't blame your friend or any one else who bought cryptos at high prices since BTC price was surging insanely and we did'nt expect it to crash like that.

Any way investing in cryptocurrency is too risky and it is not always profitable, you will lose at some point.

This is why cost averaging method is the recommended strategy in buying BTC and aiming for long term before taking profit. The losses will only occur once you have decided to click that sell button on your screen. If you really believe in bitcoin, you should study the concept and technology behind it and know how to position yourself in the market.
