@zaratu: Try this; when you get to the debug console, first do:

then do

dumpprivkey YOUR_ADDRESS_HERE

The "60" in the first command is required, and specifies how long you want to unlock the wallet for.

@elchavotravieso, @Andrey3722: Actually Electrum's a bit annoying for this purpose. It supports a BIP44/BIP39 master key from which all our receive keypairs are generated, just like a Ledger. However, just like a Ledger, it also won't show you the derived keys, meaning you have to use an external tool to derive the keys from your phrase and then import THOSE into Litecoin Cash.

This is doable, but it's a real hassle. Try Jaxx instead.

You can not only bring twist and huge interest in this fork but also can make the claiming process more smooth and eventful by taking some of the major exchanges on board. It is up to you how to convince them if few big exchanges show support for this people will easily claim and immediately trading also can start after the fork.

securing the process is not a problem what i'm worried is the risk of installing the executable wallet file to claim them. is it safe? what happen if it infect your window with trojan, malware, keylogger without realising it?

It's a useless fork no one asked for. This is solving a problem that doesn't exist. And doing a piss poor job of it.

The GitHub page is a joke. There is no core source code (client, nodes, wallet, etc...), just some useless code snipets. They haven't even bothered to create a real project fork on GitHub. They joined Github two weeks ago, they claim the development has lasted much longer. Sure they could have done that offline, but this is then a closed source project. This makes them highly suspect.

The use of SHA256 is a joke. Use of old mining hardware is a stupid proposition. The only coin worth mining with SHA256 is Bitcoin and you need the latest hardware. If an alt coin becomes more profitable it gets some of Bitcoins massive hashrate that effectively pushes your old machine out of the game.

The creators know they don't stand a chance creating a whole new coin by themselves. They are counting on your greed for the airdrop to get in the game using minimal effort.

I'm actually a bit conflicted about the situation. Not sure if I would rather send the creators to cold dark place or a hot blazing inferno. Decisions, decisions...

This is a valid point. While we'll release checksums that you can use to verify the executable integrity, you indeed have to trust that we haven't given out exploitative binaries in the first place.

Remember that you don't have to claim straight away -- your LCC will still be waiting for you. If you're skeptical, wait and see how other people report their claiming experiences.

@Gazanet: If your coins are in Jaxx before the fork, there is nothing else you need to do. After the fork, simply send your LTC to a new receive address in Jaxx, then extract the private key of the "old" Jaxx address and use that to claim your coins. Practice safe forking! <3

Even if you are completely legit. And you'll have a hard time convincing me. I still feel the whole project is at the least unnecessary. It doesn't bring anything new to the table, not really.

Using SHA256? The miner with the best efficiency that is willing to mine for the lowest profit margin is going to eliminate any miners wanting to use legacy hardware. Using an effective retargeting algo is not going to solve that. So that's not really something you can use to promote your coin.

And then there's this thing I hear about a 1% premine. Modest. Just 5.5 Mil LCC, phew. Why did I even bother to mention this!? Pocket change...

So in conclusion, there is a way to convince me of your honest intentions, but it would require:
- full source code at least one week prior to block 1371112 being mined
- mining open to everyone for block 1371112, no Dash style mining launches thank you very much
- zero premine

Yesterday i bought some LTC and now i transferred them into my Electrum Wallet.

Now to be able to claim the LCC after the fork, I need the private key of my Electrum Wallet, which then I have to import in the LCC wallet?

However, if I export the private keys into a csv-file, there are 26 private keys... Which one do I need?

- Welcome! There are no stupid questions, and we're really big on user education.

Electrum is actually a little trickier than some other wallets for doing key management; I'll try and explain concisely.

When you export you should see two columns. On the left are your LTC addresses, and on the right is the private key for each one. Electrum pre-generates a bunch of keys/addresses from a single master key so in that list you're seeing addresses that haven't necessarily been used yet. In all likelihood, given that you've only made one transaction into your Electrum wallet, only the first address has been used.

You can easily check to see which one(s) you need; go to your fave block explorer (I like this one), and paste in the first Litecoin address in the list. Only the address part, not the private key! That will show you the balance on that address; if you don't see all your LTC there, check the next address on the list.

The private key(s) that you'll want to import into the LCC wallet are the ones that are actually holding balance.

However, be sure to practice safe forking: After the fork, but before importing any of those keys into LCC, first use Electrum to send all your LTC to one of the unused addresses in that list. This protects your Litecoin, because the keys that were holding your LTC at the fork time -- ie, the keys you'll use to claim LCC -- are no longer holding any Litecoin and so can't be used to steal your LTC.

Ok, I see that there is need to detail the doing to recieve LCC.

preconditions:

• You have LTC in you primary wallet or an excange
• You have a secondary wallet (single use wallet)
• You have downloaded and installed the LCC wallet

procedure:

• Transfer your LTC before the Fork to your secondary wallet
• Whait until the Fork is done
• Transfer your LTC back to your primary wallet or excange
• Go to your secondary (now empfty) wallet and export / copy the private key(s)
• Create a LCC Wallet and import the private key(s)
• Optional: Transfer your LCC to your primary wallet / excange

result:

• Amout of LTC in your primary wallet / excange
• Amout of LCC (10x LTC) in your LCC wallet

More good advice below:

You will need to have your litecoin stored in a wallet where you are able to access
your private keys. You can do this with Jaxx, Exodus, or electrum for litecoin.

Online wallets like coinbase wont show you your private key.

- Before the fork, send all coins to an Electrum LTC wallet.
- After fork, send them back to your Ledger Nano.
- Extract the private key from the Electrum LTC wallet and use that to claim your Litecoin Cash.
