Established in Hangzhou, China in February 2004 by Alibaba Group, Alipay is a third-party mobile and online payment platform. In 2013, Alipay became the world’s largest mobile payment platform. In 2016, Alipay had a 54% part of China's US$5.5 trillion mobile payment market, by far the biggest in the world, although its share fell from 71% in 2015 as its competitor WeChat Pay was quickly catching up. WeChat is Chinese software developed by Tencent in 2011. In 2017, it became one of the largest standalone mobile applications by monthly active users. It is a multi-purpose social media mobile application; hence it is called China's "App for Everything" and a "Super App". Known for its Mini Programs characteristic which integrates many different tasks and programs, WeChat has gained huge popularity in a very short span of time.
The process of transferring funds via Alipay is similar to wiring money from a bank but the difference here is that you are the banker. You will require a few pieces of information that includes receiver’s full name as printed on their identification, the country they are living in, the address to their accommodation, and the details of their bank. The steps to this process are following:
1.   Launch the Alipay application.
2.   Press the button ‘Alipay’, then ‘More’.
3.   Press ‘International Transfer’ on the next page to enter the international payment page.
4.   There are going to be two choices then, ‘Transfer Money Abroad Immediately’ and ‘Invite Others to Pay Money Abroad.’ This will permit your family members or peers to make transfers through your phone.
5.   Fill in the information of the bank account that is going that is going to receive the money.
6.   Now, by pressing ‘C’, a drop-down menu of the country or regions will show up to which the money can be transferred via Alipay. Check whether the receiver’s country is available in the options or not.
7.   Fill in the detailed payment information.
8.   Now, you will check the details of the information you have entered on the next screen. After that, press the ‘Confirm’ button and enter your password to finish the process.
1.   Along with many amazing features that WeChat has, one ability is to transfer money dar away from WeChat Wallet Balance to the receiver’s account, even if the recipient is miles away. To begin the process of transferring the money, we need to:
2.   Launch WeChat.
3.   At the bottom of the screen, press ‘Me’, then ‘Wallet’.
4.   On the top left, press ‘Transfer’.
5.   There are going to be two options then: ‘Transfer to a Friend’, which allows you to transfer money to anyone in WeChat contacts, and ‘Receive In-Person’, that allows you to transfer money to the one who is there with you.
6.   If you press the first option, then choose the person you want to transfer the money to.
7.   After selecting the contact, put in the amount of money you want to transfer.
8.   Again, there are going to be two options: Either you want to pay through one of the debit cards you have attached, your WeChat balance or a new card.
9.   Once you select the payment method, enter the WeChat passcode.
10.   After that, a confirmation message will appear. In the end, the receiver must confirm the payment in order to receive it.
