Taking into account a price drop of half on usb and blade ASICs within the next month, my best guesstimate would be difficulty leveling off around November to mid December.
FWIW, I don't see difficulty starting to level off before 3rd quarter 2014.

I believe the difficulty will go %10+ forever on every difficulty change.
I am not a technical man nor I have any knowledge on circuits but I think if asics managed this much raise, there would be some new hardware with much more higher hashrates , maybe they will still be asics but just 'better' ones.

this increase is all ASIC genenaration 1 coming to market. The second generation of .28 chips will start hitting the market in the fall. In regards to the price of manufacturing meeting the difficulty there's still ways to go. Remember the manufacturing cost of these USB sticks is around .01 to .02 (what a profit margin when they were selling them at over 2 BTC, talk about striking it rich with BTCs). The question that should be placed is when the manufacturers no longer think the profit margin is worth the trouble. So the 30% a period will continue for the foreseeable future. These sticks will be unprofitable (power cost = revenue) at 2 million difficulty, but you'll never recover your investment, you'll do it as a hobby. That's why they have lowered the price so much, they're trying to milk the last drop of milk out of the BTC cow and playing on the people stupidity into ordering 100s thinking they are smarter then the guy next door that is also ordering 100s. .08 is probably the lowest they will go before closing up shop or releasing a .28 chip

I bought 12 of these for 1900 usd. I feel like a right plonker now. I do not think I have been unlucky I should have done my research instead of jumping in head first. ASIC miners are a scam even at this price. A total Scam. I have mine mining alt currencies now in a hope they gain popularity as I have given up with getting 0.1 bitcoin per week.

I could have bough 15 bitcoins but now I am stuck with 1.6 Bitcoins that cost me 1900 USD. I can laugh about it now but I did go through some darkness about it.

We are glad to announce that we decided to continue distributing more Block Erupter USBs as a limitation-free extension of the coupon plan in the last two months. Besides for mining alone, at the coupon price level they serve perfectly as gifts as well as mining introduction devices.
What's the price if I don't have a coupon and just want to buy 50? I'd like to know that too. The only European reseller is adding 60% margin + shipping. At least they should be available through more resellers. Monopoly isn't good.

Kind of funny how when ASIC miners were the only game in town everyone was saying how great of a guy friedcat is for producing and selling a product that was getting into peoples hands... now some want to tar and feather him because of things out of his control.
My only bitch is I was one of the first buyer of the USB miners where I bought 15 @ 1.99BTC each, in Canary's group buy #1 and was one of the last to get the coupon at .15 each when he was selling them to anybody at .18. It would have been nice if the coupon deal would have been done more fair than it was.

Same here, by the time the coupon was offered it was worthless.

its all about the resale for these, personal use will never turn a profit sadly. I bought 8 of them for about 1.3 BTC (after tax, shipping, etc), and just resold 3 of them for a total 0.8 BTC, putting me at a relative cost of 0.1BTC per unit i still have. These have each mined almost 0.01BTC and are still up for sale

Did Kano already saw this? Maybe he will stop bashing USB erupters now Still won't ROI. Not that that makes them obsolete, they are good for learning about bitcoin and mining. Number is the only factor. If there are at least 50 connected, You still do the true thing as there are many scams, unless the true 100Gh/s in 28nm transistor released into wild. For me, I still select this one if available. Which I suggest people to select the friedcat's being first then ask other as currently no one is doing the true thing at a moment. No True hashrate= being dead.
