To anyone that is interested I have found a dev that is willing to take the job we came to a compromise he wants to be paid in BTC but has agreed to escrow  so if you guys are ready to get serious about this please let me know so we can make it happen ASAP

Well now that we got a dev lined up we need to get more people involved everyone kicks in a little to the escrow to pay the dev also as far as a Web dev goes it could be one of us I just meant somebody to build a site that can use ASIC coin like I said my idea for a rig rental site payable only in ASIC something that would create a demand for ASC if anyone else has an idea or can do something better please do not hesitate to let me know/do it this is a COMMUNITY PROJECT so feel free to help

Merged mining, where your rig is mining more than one coin simultaneously. Namecoin does it, MAZA is supposed to but doesn't. I think it's an excellent idea if you're going to fork this coin, make it merge minable with other SHA coins, and that will give it some impetus as pool ops can offer it as a bonus for mining other SHA coins.

Has anyone contacted and/or heard from the original ASICcoin dev? Also, what size of payment is this new dev asking for to work on revamping ASICcoin? Honestly, I think we should hold out for someone willing to be paid in ASICcoin...I just feel that a dev being paid in the coin they are developing makes more sense as they might put more/better effort into the development, not just enough to get it going, collect BTC and jump ship...

agree, but as mentioned we can make payment in ASIC a sweeter deal than BTC, we can also offer 'options' like right to buy 1000ASIC for 0.01BTC before July 2015 etc.

I think like me, there are a few following this thread pretty closely, so I don't think it will end up with just the three of you.
I guess we/I are sat here waiting to see what your next move is, I myself have got interested enough in this to divert some GH/s to mine ASC everyday, not all day but at periods I switch pool to mine this.

Good effort and some good plans you seem to come up with, just look at what DRK did yesterday after a fork.........

Well I can finance this whole endeavor if I so choose I just wanted this to be a community project because not much point in forking a coin nobody wants or supports. I think a slightly better approach will be for me to start offering my SHA-256 miners for rent strictly payable in ASC and at the same time collaborating with a dev ASC payable or not the dev will just be a sub contractor for myself anyway so as long as I support the coin it doesn't matter if the dev does or not because if he does unsatisfactory work then I can refuse payment until he fixes it

We also need more ideas on what this coin can actually be used for we either need way more people willing to rent out their rigs for ASC or find a distributor willing to accept it as payment for ASICS.......in fact I can fulfill that need I will start sel ling Gridseed orbs for ASC on the forums here.....ok so we need to come up with hard targets for max coins payout rate and halving schedule I'm thinking 210 million coins (x10 the amount of bitcoins) premine or no premine? Premine would be used for nothing other than initial bankrolling of ASICS to sell for ASC I.e. A buildup of ASC infrastructure. Payout of 102.4 initial per block halving at block 50,000 etc etc or does somebody have a better idea because I'm open to it

Hey all, new to ASC. You should advertise this to all the people with sha-256 block erupters, such as antminer u1 and u2's. It could give us the needed user base and add hashes to the network.

Even better; be a bro and get one to mine ASC, they're like 25 - 30 bucks these days.

No idea how to make that happen, but I think we can keep this coin alive. Spread the word. I'm going to hit 4chan maybe and try to start some ASC threads.
