Posts like these are what Merit is trying to reduce, if however you had taken more than 3 seconds to think about the post, researched the posters, checked who contributes what and where you would of been able to build a great list from the top 30 posters.. but you didn't you were lazy and trying to merit farm

Those 3 names were suggested to me by someone. And what is your God damn problem if I add them now or later . If you want to contribute then stay or else leave . Noone is relying on your suggestions. Also I have clearly mentioned I need suggestion to keep the list updated. Kindly raise your fucking eyes and see

I think that achow101 also deserves a place in the list. I think that he has the most comprehensive posts in the technical discussions.

It's not all about merits ! I know it's a great idea and helpful for new people but I just decided to post the topic with the limited names I had in my mind . And ask people about names I am not aware. Because lately I was a bit inactive and also there are people who are willing to help me so those who want to help are well appreciated!

Not really. I don't see the point of there being a hall of fame for extraordinary posters, isn't the merit supposed to be for it? Extraordinary posters will get the most merit and be listed in the "top merited users" in merit stats anyways, no need for an additional list, IMO.

Not all merited users are good posters . People even send merits to posts they agree. For example :- TMAN , he receives merit for being famous and not for his quality (said by himself).

One of such activities that doesn't pay is helping newcomers and explaining things to them. They have no merit to give you for your time and knowledge. With the introduction of the merit system it started to be the definition of charity work.

I'm going to be 100% honest and say that I don't think I'm in the same category as the users in this list or that I'm going to suggest. Honestly popped in to see what this thread was about and I'm flattered to be included, but can't imagine what criteria you're using if I'm lumped in.

I have a bunch more users that I will probably add as they come to mind, I'm pretty bad with names. These users have pretty solid post-quality themselves. Just felt like these were all users worth considering.

I normally don't agree with TMAN's harsh approach, but the man has a point. I put about 5-minutes into this list I just made, and it's twice as long as your list in OP (before suggestions from others). I suggest putting some effort into this quick or it is a shitpost.

@OP you should add more DT members, merit sources, you missed few moderators and I honestly think you should add all campaign managers, and please don't forget to add some random users which are also great posters because without them your topic will look like your head is deep in dt/mod/managers ass.

What was the OP even thinking while making that subjective list of his Hall of Fame Extraordinary Posters, if I may ask. Did he think that people here won't see beneath the hidden Merit farming that is the intent of this thread in the first place? I bet money of his mentioned posters will merit the OP because it is a shameless plug. I honestly think this thread should be locked. It is not serving any genuine purpose.

That's why I'm in agreement with your approach, at least in these types of scenarios. It is nice to see users putting more effort into their posts, but it is sad to see people doing things because they see it as a potential Merit-Go-Round. Being too gentle might not send the message clearly enough that we don't want disingenuous discussions and we will not be mislead by a newbie's desperation for merit.

My first red-flag was being included in the list. I have long posts and I actually try to have conversations with people, but my technical knowledge is pathetic and my forum information is equally poor. I don't know what made them include me, but I might have even merited this thread if there was real effort put into it, with real criteria and I wasn't on the list.

OP, if you want this list to be worth anything then you should probably lock this thread, spend a few hours researching the history of the forum and bitcoin development and start grabbing names of knowledgeable and informative users. I have been helped by dozens of intelligent people and this is partly how I came up with my few names.
