Guys, What about the independent film market? Do they have a good revenue.

I'm glad you asked. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) estimates that in 2018 the global revenue of the film screening market will exceed $110 billion.

Major movie studios like Warner Bros., Disney must be responisble for a massive part of the revenue coming into the US.

Don't forget Century Fox, Sony / Columbia, and Paramount Pictures.

How can we forget them, Mission Impossible was one of my favourites by Paramount pictures.

Those account for 80% of the U.S. film industry’s total revenue. In contrast, the U.S. film industry market share held by independent filmmakers in 2016 was 20%. It can be estimated that the global market share of independent filmmakers is at least $20 billion a year.

Wow! $20 billion a year is a huge amount.

In the Whitepaper it was stated that since 2005, independent filmmakers have increased their share from 1/3, to 3/4 of all films produced in US.

Ofcourse! that is obvious. Even Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Paramo Pictures, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Company, Columbia Pictures, and Universal Pictures are located in the US. So there is no doubt!

Guys, Is US the largest film producer in the world?

I've been reading about global movie production recently and it turns out that the largest portion of film producers are from Asian countries.

That's true. But the U.S. film industry alone is the largest in the world, both in terms of the number of films produced and the volume of box office returns. However the Chinese film industry is the second largest in the world.

As I heard, China's film industry is growing so fast. Surely they will come to the top soon.

Never thought China produces that much of films to be in the second place.

Why not! Forecasts suggest that in the near future, China’s film production may outpace the U.S., as a result of more active growth in movie theater chains. Agencies report that, while there are only 93 theater chains in the U.S., there are more than 400 in China.

I'm glad that TVzavr has started the MoviesChain project. I've watched a few movies from local independent film producers and I was really dissapointed that great movies like that do not get to the global market. Pretty sure MoviesChain platform will solve this issue so that everyone around the world can enjoy those great movies.
