I am yet to go through the whitepaper but does this mean we will be looking at a "fork" like for ethereum? In the sense that Gochain will be a parallel framework or is it built on top of ETH and solves issues ETH has when it comes to smart contract execution and transactions?

That would be really interesting jobs. I need to know where to train to become a Blockchain Engineer in my country. I also do not know the programming language Go, so this will not be a job for me. But for the future that would be good education

Wow, 1300 transactions a second is quite something.. Especially with it producing  0.7 gigabytes a data an hour.. I think the energy friendly aspect is great as well, last I checked BTC uses something like the power of 35 US households for each transaction.

GoChain uses a Proof of Reputation (PoR) consensus model that depends on the reputation of its participants to keep the network secure. I see lots of potential in this project, I just glanced through theme white-paper.

Hello ibininja, GoChain is not a fork of Ethereum but rather an own blockchain built on an upgraded Ethereum code base. This makes GoChain compatible with all existing Ethereum tools and Dapps.

GoChain is mainly solving 3 problems; scalability, energy consumption, and smart contracts improvement.

I think what they are trying to do is solve problems related to efficiency, speed and less energy consumption in processing high power services. I get from the whitepaper that they are a decentralised blockchain trying to solve issues with Ethereum smart contract thereby offering better services but what i do not understand is will their token be an Erc20 token.

Hello gee777, thanks for your input. You're quite spot on. Just to clarify, the ERC-20 token is being used for the purpose of token sale only. Eventually, we'll swap them for native GOC coins.

Yea, looks like a pretty decent project to try out, as the problem of scalability needs to be fixed, still going through the whitepaper though but they gave some pretty decent reason why they should be invested in, well i can't say much for now till i finish with the proper assimilation of the whitepaper

Hello Darkoth89, yes the energy requirements of Bitcoin and Ethereum are quite unsustainable! This why GoChain is working to bring it down by 1000x. We've already achieved 1300tps on our testnet.
