If one creates an altcoin today, what are the 3 most important factors that would make it valuable? Or 3 activities that would do so?

First thing that comes to mind is the product. A working product for an altcoin is really going to always make it stay useful and relevant, otherwise it would just be another shitcoin with no real value except being used as a pump and dump coin on exchanges.

Also, the team is definite, because no matter how the product looks good from the start, more development will always be needed to even make the product fantastic for more usage and that is where the team comes in.

Altcoins value depends upon the use and purpose of each coin in any other transactions. IT depends on how useful it will be on the users of the coin.  The relevance of each coin may depend upon each and every project that it may take and every concept that it will run into. Every altcoins has its specialty and its effectivity. I think also with the supply and demands of these coins also makes partly out of it a valuable thing.

There are a lot of things that can make an altcoin valuable.  Many of the times, it's from promises.  The team promises to deliver a product or platform and if they don't deliver, it can affect the price negatively.  

The promises should not be consider as one of the basis for altcoins to pump or dump, basically its more on the project itself because if investors believe on that specific coin, and how the team execute all their target goals. Though sometimes altcoins failed to do some of it but still able to maintain the level of its price so I think it will always matter on a good or bad news for every altcoin.

There are lot of good projects like all that lending coins but I can’t imagine that really somebody will use that

1) A team with extensive experience in this field.
2) Understandable and implemented in the near future idea.
3) A beta version of the product.

4. Attracts many investors
Because everything depends on them how the development will take place and what future plans they see to improve and attract even more investors. And I think everything else will be added.

The alt coin may be valuable due to following reasons.
1.Project:Idea behind the project is very important for the successful of project.
2.Member/Team: related to the project whether they are more experience and had taken part in success of other coins launch.
3.Developer:Now technology is also important factor
4.Marketing Tactics: What kind of marketing strategies have adopted to promote that alcoin
5.Viability:Strategies for how long this product will remain in market short term/Long term.

As far as i am concerned all of above mentioned factors affect altoin value.

This is really a great factor. Not just by simply gaining profit but also aiding at least one problem at a time. WPR or WePower is on hype today, their platform that providing green energy really piques the interest of the investors. A great idea is the heart of a successful project.

Without those three, I dont think a certain project can survive or become successful. those are the reason why altcoins today still progressing.

I will not name three features, but if the coin is a sam, then most often it is noticeable, but sometimes good projects are perceived as a scam..

It is very different depending on what type of project has behind. Is like asking what is the most valuable thing on a stock market share... some companies are just hype others solid.

The idea behind it plays the largest part in the valuation of an altcoin. Makes sense that the demand will slump if it has no actual use cases. IMO, the total supply is irrelevant; see ripple for example.

I think if altcoin is usefull and safe to invest in it makes it valueable, but that's my opinion. Also types of project it has behind it and how much it attracts investors. But i'm not specialist in it so it's only my opinion as i've said before.

Basically the reason that a coin can not reach the level of exchangers, it's a bad team work and advertising.

What makes an altcoin valuable is the concept of the project. The more useful it is to the community the more interesting it becomes. It becomes useful if it can solve problems of the day to day transactions. Second, the people behind the project. Trustworthy people, especially with expertise in cryptos gives a big impact to the investors. Last is the promotions-giving mainstream information, the way it was given is really a plus.

There should be a team that has some years of experinence into crypto. They should know how the market is working and they should show a lot of activity in their project.

Here are the filters I tend to use to determine the value of a token:

-Has the project already launched vs in Development?
-Is it a platform or just a pure coin?
-Who are the founders and lead developers?
-What is the market cap of the investment?
-Even if the business case is great, will the coin itself have value?

I'm sure that a good coin can really become very popular, because in the first place you can see the scam, but the main thing is not to look like a scam
