Everyone is saying altcoin winter, but I disagree. I think it wont last all that long. Maybe a few weeks or so. Bitcoin is definitely going to shoot up soon though. What do you all think?
I think that already in March-April we will all see a big growth of the crypto-currency market. All coins from the top 10 in terms of capitalization, in my opinion will give a good profit. Maybe not that fast, but I am sure they'll recover. Basically, it's all up to us. If we support the coins, but them and wait for further growth then it will indeed be so. The reason why the market went down so much was a kind of a consensus of users that it's best to sell at current prices (for btc it was about $8k) to encourage more people to sell and then buy at superlow prices. And it did work for some time, but I believe that at $5k bitcoin reached the minimum which the majority couldn't ignore anymore, so people started buying again. I am sure more will follow and buy the coins at current prices, since it is pretty safe to say that all major coins will at least give 2x profit in about a year. |

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I think you are wrong. Alts are now more powerful than Bitcoin and are offering real usage, solving a real problems. The tendency will continue and I will not be surprised if the BTC dominance share on CMC gets under 10% in 2-3 years. |

It remains to wait 1-2 weeks and spring will begin. Alts begin to grow as in December, well, at least should recover from the previous fall.

I also dont agree with an altcoin winter. The altcoins are still very strong in these hard times and I think they are going up again soon. I still expect a nice hand in hand pump like last year.
I also think that it is possible. In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts. The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now. The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster. I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place. What kind of winter, soon this is March-April, we will see significant changes and significant growth. So it remains to wait very short. We are waiting for spring months to see that prices have risen. After March-April, the effect of crash will be completely reduced and the price of altcoins will increase. We all need to see that the winter is over  |

That is if bitcoin shoots up. If bitcoin continues its way down then there is for sure going to be an altcoin winter. Investors are a lot more cautious when it comes to altcoins as well so they'll get dumped heavily. They know that altcoins are a lot more volatile than bitcoin is, so anything happens on bitcoin, altcoin will probably suffer double. But right now, no reason to think that this bull market will end. |

Well, you may call it an altcoin winter or crypto winter if you want because it includes Bitcoin. This is normal. There are always pump and dump seasons in cryptocurrency. There is a time when we see almost every coin flying so high unbelievably. There are also times when we get frustrated because almost all cryptos are crying hard with blood. This will not last long of course. In the same manner that the flying of Bitcoin and the altcoins will also not go on indefinitely. Both continuous pump and dump of coins are not healthy to the entire world of crypto. |

Bitcoin hasn't and probably isn't going to shoot up any time soon. That's the reason why altcoins are falling as well. As long as bitcoin is falling and it's leading the market trend, altcoins are going to be in a bear market as well. Instead of a few weeks I actually think that this bear market could last until the end of the year. So yes, it's safe to say that it's altcoin winter now. Don't expect a lot of profits from investing in big market cap coins for the year as they are just generally going to follow bitcoin's movements, instead, look at some smaller market cap stuff if you do want to trade for a profit this year or just hold your bags for now until the bear market subsides. |

Bitcoin hasn't and probably isn't going to shoot up any time soon. That's the reason why altcoins are falling as well. As long as bitcoin is falling and it's leading the market trend, altcoins are going to be in a bear market as well. Instead of a few weeks I actually think that this bear market could last until the end of the year. So yes, it's safe to say that it's altcoin winter now. Don't expect a lot of profits from investing in big market cap coins for the year as they are just generally going to follow bitcoin's movements, instead, look at some smaller market cap stuff if you do want to trade for a profit this year or just hold your bags for now until the bear market subsides. I think the prices are over dropping, there are too many panic investors that have bought cheap coins a few month ago, so I think it will recover soon. Then the altcoins will recover later. |

What comes after winter? Summer and spring. Like everything else in life, this is a fight for the survival of the fittest. If you can stand the cold you will be rewarded. Hold on to your coins, whatever they are. Everything is due for a decent uptrend so very soon. |

In winter, the coins will have to show their peak, and not just start going into growth. And for this they need to start from the summer to make it, on which and all our hopes. But for now we see that there is no stabilization and it is difficult to predict everything. |

I also sometimes have the thoughts that such a bad position the market will hold for a long time, but I do not want to believe in it, and I hope that soon we will see growth up. I think it's a very good time to invest in altcoin. |

These days so many news impact in crypto, yes it is hard to predict when altcoins would show up to rise. Hopefully we can have the good news for crypto's would increase the value. |

the longer the summer the longer the winter is going to be.
and it is mainly because of all the newbies who are slowly giving up to say goodbye to their worthless bags they have been holding.

And do not worry, the winter could be long, but that just means the spring and summer will be coming when no one expects. Even better for us who want to weed out all the impatient players. Cannot wait to see the market emerge healthy. With fewer speculators, fewer stupid alts, and the strong ones just ready to roar. 2018 should be a time for us to rest anyway. |
