I like this project. The wallet looks great too!

However, there seem to be a name clash with another currency.

I'm assuming the project is not related to Alloy Coin (https://alloycoin.com). If not, it's probably not the best name. Simply Googling or searching using the search term "alloy coin" on for example YouTube leads to https://alloycoin.com in half the cases.

What happened to http://alloy.cash, which is linked to in the previous thread? Would it not be less confusing to redirect from this domain (which is 404'ing GitHub page) to the current site?

If you want to rise above the average, attention to details like this are necessary.

it seems that bitmain will release asic for CryptoNight algo

We are proud and happy to announce that we are launching the all-new Antminer X3, a new Antminer model for mining cryptocurrencies based on the hashing algorithm CryptoNight.

The Antminer X3 delivers a minmum hashrate of 220KH/s while consuming 550W of total power.

You have plan to release whitepaper with full details about your coin how this will work. Anonymity has big charm a lot of people still interested in privacy related coins so that it would be nice if you upload the whitepaper about this project.

And the winners of our lucky draw are:
https://twitter.com/alloy_project/status/974373827219263489

About cryptonight asic, we're waiting to see how the transition from monero to cryptonight v7 goes before taking a decision, which is certain we do not want to allow theses asic to participate in our mining network.

We should improve our roadmap / whitepaper and our goals visibility.

Small miner here. First time trying to transfer XAO.  I'm trying to transfer my 76 XAO from one wallet to another and I get a message that says "transaction too large." How do I fix this?

You are probably trying to transfer all of your 76 coins and you don't have money for the transfer fee. Try to transfer 75.9 XAO

I tried again, transferring less, as you suggested, but I still get the same error message? Do I need to stop mining in order to successfully send coins?

If you have a lot of inputs, as you might from trying to send coins from many different mining runs, you will hit up against the max transaction size limits.  Spend smaller amounts.

I believe this is an issue earlier in a cryptonote coin's lifecycle, as the transaction limit increases over time, based on recent averages or something.

See "Adaptive Limits" on https://cryptonote.org/inside#adaptive-limits

Code:
2) Max block size. Let MN be the median value of the last N blocks sizes. Then the "hard-limit" for the size of accepting blocks is 2*MN. It averts blockchain bloating but still allows the limit to slowly grow with the time if necessary. Transaction size does not need to be limited explicitly. It is bounded by the size of the block.
