Have anyone tried their service? www.paybear.io
Been planning to integrate crypto payment for my small online shop and I find this site offering lower fees than current payment gateway right now in the market. Have anyone of you tried their service? They are just starting don't know if it'll be a good option for me to accept cryptocurrency. An advice would be helpful. They claim to have the lowest fees.

P.S. Would love to have your opinion about this. Thanks

Hello OP, I had been following their progress on telegram. https://t.me/paybear And they seem to have good potential as SaaS currently they have tied up with MarketDao and got retweeted by Litecoin. Maybe joining them on their telegram would help answer some of your questions.

I hope they will launch an ICO for me to invest.  Grin

I'd agree that it's safer to give it some time and wait for feedback. If in case this is legit though, I am sold with the concept of stable coin prices while using the blockchain technology.

Do they have an ICO where I can buy tokens?
No. But according to their youtube intro video[1], they may launch one soon.

I had been lurking on their telegram group and I think they seem to have a good future. The team even shared this. https://www.reddit.com/r/paybear/comments/7zheys/paybear_makerdao_partnership_announcement/

Is this a good sign for the project?

Yeah maybe, its yet too early but they seem to have a good team behind. They're just starting things. As slow death said, give them some time before you jump in. Or do test transaction on their website. They claim to have the lowest fee than the other competitors. https://www.paybear.io/pricing

Paybear or Bitpay? Paybear is definitely way more cheaper in terms of transaction fees, but seems a bit more complicated to set up (I have no experience in coding). Any thoughts?

I'd go with what benefits users/customers the most which is a service with lower fees. I see some potential in Paybear because of this.

With Paybear's partnership with Makerdao, I am hoping to see some good results coming out of this in the near future. I believe that unstable prices is one of the reasons that keeps other  investors out of Cryptos.

Been planning to integrate crypto payment for my small online shop and I find this site offering lower fees than current payment gateway right now in the market.
Which other payment gateways (apart from "BitPay" that you mentioned on your other post)?

They claim to have the lowest fees.
That's in comparison to "Stripe" and "PayPal". In general, "crypto" payments are always cheaper (except for periods of network overload) than the other two methods (since they choose fees, based on the amount that's being transferred).
- In addition to those: Their 0% service fee on "Beta" stage, might change upon completion of the stage:
How much does it cost to use your service?
Our system is currently in BETA stage, as such our fees are 0% at this time. In the future when we begin charging fees we will give all users at least 30 days notice. Our fees will be in-line with our vision to provide a cost effective solution for Merchants.

Paybear or Bitpay? Paybear is definitely way more cheaper in terms of transaction fees, but seems a bit more complicated to set up (I have no experience in coding). Any thoughts?
Not a fan of "BitPay" and since "PayBear" it's a new service on this field, I recommend the following instead (for the time being):

1. Shifty Button (My personal favorite).
2. CoinPayments
3. CoinGate
4. Blockonomics

I have checked all you have suggested. Here's my thoughts.

1. Shifty Button - I think this one is the most user friendly IMHO, I will dig deeper on it because I can't find their actual cost per transactions.
2. Coinpayments - Nah, I'll pass on this. CS sucks as we know it.
3. CoinGate - Not noob friendly, I don't know much about API's and stuff.
4. Blockonomics - Never heard of this.

I know Paybear is new in this market, but their team is very supportive. And their website, is a bit more enticing. LOL  Grin
Bitpay on the other hand, claims to charge only 1% but it isn't true. IMO, they're charging more than that.

I guess the only difference between Paybear and other gateways is that Paybear is still new. Still eyeing Paybear because of its much cheaper fees though. Will see how things go.

Yeah I also think it that way. Been on their telegram group of paybear and in fairness to the team. They are very responsive and will be glad to answer any of my queries.

Not surprised why Bitpay isn't recommended lol. Took a peek in the Shifty Button page and found that it was indeed user-friendly in terms of talking about how things work, but what I wanted was an actual comparison of fees which wasn't there. Paybear explains the fees well, but I need to take a second look at the APIs since I too am not so good with those.  Tongue

Chatted with one of the Paybear staff directly from their website and they helped explain about the codes. I like how they are making things easy with staff available to chat with.

I haven't heard much about Paybear as well, but its partnership with Makerdao and the fact that it got retweeted by Litecoin puts them in a favorable position. I like how they are lowering their fees to technically nothing.

Well I'm in doubt with its "the lowest in industry" slogan since the FAQ on their website indicates this and they are still on the BETA phase.

If they would be true with their promise then paybear would became successful like any other services right now in the market.

It's normal for people to be skeptical especially since Paybear is a new service. I'm fairly neutral about it and will wait for reviews after a few months.

Well for me this is a good sign for their team. Bitcoin Gold announces the partnership with paybear, it seems all are looking good for them.

They seem to be quite here on Bitcointalk, I don't know if they have even an Announcement thread or a Sig/bounty campaign. Paybear seems to be promising but I think they lack people's awareness of their product.

LOL. Think again. Paybear didn't say the 0% is forever, take a look again to their website. The 0% service fee you're saying is just for the intro or beta period of the service. After that they'll be asking a service fee but lesser than its competitor right now.

I guess you need to read their faq since they never mentioned that their fees will stay 0% forever. They have also gotten quit a bit of attention lately due to partnerships with known companies and merchants.

Well that's their main focus right now, the recent tie-up with maker dao is something that makes them trustworthy. Another thing is that their twitter got retweeted by BTG amd Litecoin.

Really not good with coding. Is there anyway that Paybear staff can do it for us or at least make things simplee by talking over the phone for instructions?

That's a good move. But I think you're a little late in cryptocurrency buddy. I think more a more people will be involve to cryptocurrency with these kind of services and not just junk coins relying to coin offerings and coin selling.

Really not good with coding. Is there anyway that Paybear staff can do it for us or at least make things simplee by talking over the phone for instructions?

Yeah, they can help you just contact them directly on their website.

They seem to be legit. Their website is clean and the error free. And the blockchain/advisory team seems legit. Got one problem though, when I clicked they facebook page, it leads to nothing.

Yeah. I think so. Basing from their twitter page a lot of merchants have adopted their API. You might want to check their twitter and you'll see a bit of legitimacy.

Don't know about their FB page. I also checked it and nothing appeared, I'll ask them on telegram what happened to paybear's official fb page.

Thanks. I have asked because I'm planning to integrate paybear's api to to my website. And I'm wondering, are there any 'dummy' information I can use at checkout to simulate a normal one for testing purposes?

Its been a long time since I have checked this thread and no staff has arrived to answer any concerns of their services. You might just go directly to paybear's telegram or twitter account to clarify any queries you have in mind. BTW, what's your question I might be able to help you?

I'd like to test one out as well to identify potential issues before going live with it, but not sure if this is possible though.

You can test it out. The API is live and running, you can try with small amounts to test their service. So far some minor issues arises but they are being solved by the admin's of paybear. Been reading on their telegram group.

Hello, do I need to build the UI by myself?
I remember that BitPay and BTCPay offers a default UI that can be used directly. Does PayBear offer similar UI?

Bitcoin Token tweeted about PayBear a few days ago. They are giving out 100,000 $BTK to 10 random winners who simply will retweet their post. Wonder when winners will be announced?  Roll Eyes

I'm currently at PayBear's page right now and looking at the fee comparison against PayPal and stripe. With fees that are 204x cheaper, I'm really hoping that many merchants will have us customers in mind and give Paybear a try..

Yeah, All queries should be directed to their telegram group because they don't focus on ICO right now. What can I see from their telegram group is merchants asking for help integrating their API. Maybe when they launch their token, some of the admins will be active here.

If DAI is really going to be around soon, It would be really awesome to pay for something at 1:1 against the dollar with all the benefits of blockchain... not to mention the cheapest fees.

So when this launch will be? Their website don't have any tentative date for their token launch. I hope it'll be soon enough as people here don't get any answers from their questions about paybear's service.

Yeah they don't have any tentative date for the ICO launch, but basing on their roadmap it'll be in the last quarter of 2018.

Well that's a long wait. I thought paybear's ICO is in the first quarter of 2018, I see they have already starting marketing their service, but I hope, they will also be focusing on their ICO.

Have paybear made a tie-up with BTK? To be honest, I don't see good about BTK because they're only a fork, plus I don't see any option in their integration for bitcoin token.

Why do say so? Just look at BCH right now.  All of this forks are meant to make more BTC reliable, as for the paybear's project they have a neat and attractive website. Might as well wait for their ICO.

I have asked this on their telegram group before, and here's an answer for it.

Quote
would love to implement something like that... But we'll have to do some more research before putting together concrete plans for this feature, we've got a ton of other things we're interested in pursuing

Not sure about this because there's no official announcement from the team about the current status on Shopify, but they have made the first base on contacting Shopify directly and they've got good response.

Customers can pay from any wallet, exchange or even a smart contract. Although not recommended, you can also use your exchange address for payouts, provided that it’s reusable. They have this info and all other potential questions in their faq https://help.paybear.io/frequently-asked-questions.

More and more merchants prefer crypto payments. With the DAI stable coin integrated into Paybear's system, I'm sure that merchants will flood in and make Paybear their primary gateway especially since it minimizes risk in terms of having to deal with the crypto market's volatility.

Yeah it all sounds pretty amazing and a game changer especially for those who frequently do microtransactions. I checked Paybear and Makerdao and they both didn't seem to have updates though. I might have missed their ANN so could anyone link it to me if you've seen it?

I was able to see the DAI dashboard and it seems to be up and running already. It had a pretty good explanation as to how it was going to maintain a $1 parity against the dollar, but the exact process is kinda complicated. There were no updates about Paybear's integration though. Maybe it's already in their pipeline.

The DAI platform is already up so I hope that Paybear is already working on their integration. I know that they are new in the business, but it doesn't seem like merchants who partnered with them are disappointed.

I actually accessed their dashboard https://dai.makerdao.com/ coz I wanted to buy some DAI. Got caught up in their explanation on how they will keep DAI at 1:1 with the dollar. Do they mean that they will automatically turn the excess to ETH and send it to our Eth wallet? Sounds like a big advantage for Eth if I understood correctly. xD

They offer the lowest fees so far which is exactly what customers want. It's been 4 months since they launched and merchant partners still keep increasing.

I've been using Paypal for my online shop, but in my opinion, it gives too much power to customers because of the dispute system. Paybear has been one of my prospect gateways for crypto payments and still discussing with my partner for our final decision.

Funds getting held due to disputes can be really annoying and bad for business. I just wish Paybear would support a wider variety of coins.

I've already suggested that they support more coins such as Doge and Waves. Not even sure why we need to make suggestions when they can automatically add these coins at their own discretion. Giving them the benefit of the doubt since it's only been 3 months + since their launch.

Totally agree. They've already got most of the major tokens integrated, I wonder what's the hold-up in adding other coins that have a significant number of supporters/users?

Try contacting their team through telegram. Last update I got was that they were working on adding more coins, but could not provide an eta.
