What? I don't understand what you mean. You get the news that bitcoin will reach the price of 50k but the other side you don't know exactly the reason. If you really read the news or watch the news until it's over I'm sure you will not create this thread, because it's impossible for a media (print or visual media) If they make a news it will explanation or reason why bitcoin can touch the price of 50k in 2018. So, if you want to provide information to people in this forum write the information clear and understandable. I will answer your question little regardless of the news you read. If you look at the movement of bitcoin price per year it will be very likely the price of bitcoin will reach 50k. But in the year 2018 there are some things to be understood, the first few countries that regulate bitcoin ends they banned bitcoin. The second is some companies like microsoft that do not use bitcoin as a transaction tool anymore and the latest facebook prohibits promoting everything about the world of crypto. With the result that, I conclude bitcoin will be difficult to reach the price of 50k in this year, my estimate is only at the price of 20k. |

The possibility of bitcoin to reach 50000 USD is possible. Bitcoin has a small token supply, there the value of each coin will really going to increase base on the current demand. So it's very possible. Let just wait and see.

Can you give us a link or any proof that the news is a genuine? Because I think it is hard for the bitcoin to hit in 50k usd since it was came from crashed. Well, if its true then we should celebrate.

It is not so hard as you think for BTC to hit $50k and the fact that it is just "came from crashed" as you put it only helps Bitcoin to gain more strength imo. With a little search, and if he start to read further he will read about much higher predictions, and about crash predictions, and so on. That is normal I guess people can wrote what ever they wish, what counts is in what we believe. And I think bitcoin can reach that price, time is not important to me, maybe that can happen soon, maybe we will need to wait, what I think is that this is only at the beginning, and many of us agree with that, more good years will come. |

Basically, no one knows. You might use your best models to predict this, but at best you can give a probability -a score- of how realistically your estimate is. The problem is that this is extremely hard to do with FIAT currencies, where we have decades of data (including social and econometrics factors) and markets have a kind of known behavior, way less erratic than the crypto ones. Everything is just a speculation, anything is possible with bitcoin. I can still remember last year, a lot of people were just speculating it to reach $5,000 before the year ends. A lot were surprised when it even reached $20,000 just before the year ends. It's difficult to trust what other people say. Let's just see and wait what possibilities are there for bitcoin. |

Yes it is possible, bitcoin will pump in near months or even weeks and it will be going up like it did last year, so 50000$ is very possible price. I dont think that will happen in this current year but for me nothing is impossible with bitcoin as we all see that it reached $20k and it is actually unexpected to happen last year but that huge price is not loasted for a long time because the price dumped and as of now the price continually rrising up but then not totally recovered and comes back to its high price. |

Trusting what you believe is really important inside this industry, just like what you have said, everybody was happy when bitcoin reach 1k$ and speculating that it can possibly reach 5k after the year end, but in our surprise bitcoin jumped and reach 20K$ last December and now that the correction happen a lots of speculation is rising again, for me I will hold for longer term so if bitcoin reached new height I'll be more than satisfied to what will I receive, better to just keep buying and look for your future. |

In my opinion there is a good chance that history will reapeat itself and even we had this drop we will reach 50k by the end of the year. If not more than 50k. Dispite bad news in the press the technology behind cryptocurrencies continues to expand and evolve. I think at this point there is no way of stopping it even tight regulations gets approved. Large coorporations are building tech for this and once they are in they will do everything not to loose their investments. You will see more and more people joining in this new trend. It certainly jeopardizes decentralization I think as once the big companies provide the tech they do gain a certain power but we can still control blockchain and transactions and hash power which continues to be a plus I think. Well I guess I taljed too much and went a little off topic. Sorry!

Technically, anything is possible. It can even go well above $50000 or even go to 0. No one can say for certain, because we are in a speculative market. But for the sake of argument, one factor that I think of that will push the price is that another country, another giant like Japan enter the picture and embrace bitcoin. Or Lightning Network implemented this year and then there's a lot of positive outcome because of this implementation, fees lowered, faster confirmation making a lot of online retailers began accepting bitcoin as mode of payment, resulting in more people pouring their money to the ecosystem. Still a long way before the end of this year, so there's a lot of possible scenarios, the only thing we can do is wait and see if every fall into places that will put the price to $50,000. |

I really think anything is possible for bitcoin. I've been watching the market long enough that I don't know how low or how high bitcoin can go. However, I made sure to call the outcome possible and not probable for a reason. For bitcoin to reach 50k by the end of this year would require a lot of new investors to jump into the pool, with a lot of money. Even then, since people saw the last time bitcoin kept going up, they're going to be quick to come to the conclusion that every gain made by bitcoin will result in some loss. This will induce fear in new investors and even current ones. |

Maybe or maybe not, its now pure speculation, predictions will be just speculation, with no strong backbone supporting the claim by various analyst. But as a huge group of people is still kind of not fully aware, they will or might put there money here and yup, that might bring $50k to reality. Also manipulators are going to help in this process as well.

The biggest reason for bitcoin to reach 50000 dollars before the end of the year will be the lightning network there is nothing that can be as influential as that, even if many countries legalized bitcoin and accepted it as a form pf payment that will not be enough to push the price up that much, what we need is an improvement on one of the biggest problems of bitcoin which is the transaction fees and the slow confirmations. |

Truth is that no one knows exactly when things will reach which levels in crypto as we are witnessing phenomenon unseen so far in human history to which you can not apply any known methods with certainty.
