It looks weird to see etherdelta died after the developer of etherdelta collection million dollars from ico. But fork delta is not 100% trustworthy in my opinion. I was prefer to use idex exchange rather thgan fork delta but it looks forkdelta is very similar to the etherdelta. I think etherdelta will be died forever. The only possible thing the developer will try to rebrand etherdelta to the new platform.

etherdelta does is annoying, the buy and sell order is not updated. the withdrawal process is sometimes difficult and must pay several times the gas to process the withdrawal, this is what makes me switch to forkdelta. etherdelta may take time to fix all the problems, but if the developer is serious and still want the exchange live.

Before I used Etherdelta at specific moments, for tokens that have just been released to the market or if there was something quite cheaper than in other exchanges. I felt EtherDelta was always the perfect place to buy post-ICO tokens/coins. Last few months especially great, since many tokens were below ICO price at ED. IDEX is more user friendly, but it also attracts way more people, which causes prices to increase faster (I think at least).

Nobody have private keys there... ED is not saving it. You are using the private key to operate over ED contract.

Etherdelta died and this has been confirmed by so many users of etherdelta itself, Some people are still complaining about the useless token called etherdelta token. The developer was running away with all of the money that has been raised through ico. Fork delta becomes an alternative right now with some improvements. Why are you still talking about etherdelta if that has died?

Airdrops give only a few amounts of money (around 5-10$). You need to pay at least 2-3$ for transaction fees.
It's not worthy to use decentralize exchanges to dump your tokens.

I had the fortune to move most of my holdings from ED before this latest technical incident happened, but I do still have some small holdings that I would like to view in my previous orders section.

yeah mate you are correct from time to time need to pay the gas for every single transactions and not allowed to make  big transaction for one time, hoping if the system switch into the frok delta the fees are moderate not like etherdelta one always asking fees. unlike in the other online exchange can i transac one time in the is lower tha to etehrdelta.

Possible but there are no strong evidence or proofs that the person behind that forkdelta are old guys came from ED itself. Two sites or exchangers are almost identical and now ED becomes operational once again I doubt the traffic came from ED comes to half since Forkdelta is there then users would really divide and it would already matter on how people do trust into these exchanges. After reading  all those comments on twitter I don’t think ED will ever recover anymore.  They are just barely keeping the site alive at this point until everyone forgets they banked over 10million on a their ICO. Maybe we did get screwed after all. Great example of how NOT to run an exchange service.

Im a big fan before of Etherdelta exchange before because of being decentralized, but now that there are too many issues unresolve and the website seems very slow to respond. Etherdelta was never usable. It had a terrible user interface. It would take any smart person atleast few hours to even understand how it works and that too if he is able to understand in the end. All the options for trading were made too complex with no guides in place.

ED is dead, at least for me because i haven't used it since i knew forkdelta about two months ago. Etherdelta is already hard to use when the eth network is congested and their ui lags a lot so i search for an alternative and found forkdelta which is the better version of etherdelta. I thought they will change for good when they run their ico but it's been a month i think and there's no change at all.

it's all due to errors of the delta ether and indeed many problems I encountered here like buy and sell orders are not updated. The withdrawal process is sometimes difficult and must pay several times the gas for the withdrawal process. maybe etherdelta will not come back before solving the problem

Actually, they are just doing such a long maintenance break to enhance their services and do some additional to their system. As I've visited their site, they are now currently in operation starting last March 1. I think not only ed doing these, but  it happen also to other exchanger also.

Since ED has a replacement of Forkdelta then lets just use FD then . It has the same features just have different interface in ED ( little difference ). 

But fork was a little bit better rather than ED on its performance, When it comes to execute the order and Fork will become more responsive compared with ED. Fork has a better improvement on the responsively of the platform compared with ED and this has stated by so many person. And you can try to make a comparison between both of exchange sites.

Actually forkdelta is more used these days but thorough observing on these two exchange etherdelta and forkdelta they were the same. They were the same why? Because it so happen etherdelta and forkdelta always had an issue on too slow to process during deposits and withdrawals. Hope they will update their server.

I think most of the etherdelta users are now using forkdelta though. In my opinion forkdelta is better than etherdelta, also from the twitter we can see that forkdelta admins are more active than etherdelta, also I love the logo more lol. Yes, probably only bots looking for a price difference in comparison to other exchanges or for some inexperienced users to place an order with unrealistic price. I've seen many times that such orders get executed within a few seconds.

Yes they are both the same and we can easily tell it because their sites names are verry simillar to each other. And i dont think etherdelta is dead because id still access it and i still traded my tokens thru it on the past days . I dont also tried to use forkdelta but if there were problems in etherdelta , i may then try to use forkdelta as an alternative so that i can still trade my coins .

I suggest youd better try etherdelta because this exchange is also good when it comes to trading or buying alts and tokens due to the fact that it is decentralize which means all transactions are automatic without human supervision for a better and faster processing.

I think it's something that was already coming, because since the emergence of IDEX there is no way to compare the functionality and efficiency of one platform and another. In fact just take a look at the tab "markets" in coinmarketcap to see that in the matter of tokens erc20, IDEX is monopolizing the market, while EtherDelta has simply stopped appearing.

Etherdelta had management problems early in the year,  and I think that has been resolved.  Another problem that plague Etherdelta was the lagging and very slow trading platform that Etherdelta was running and it really wore so many people out.  I think Etherdelta is better now!

Yes both platform are owned by the same owner but etherdelta is the only one and the original when it comes to decentralized exchange that accepts all kinds of tokens and altcoins . forkdelta on the otherhand is only a copy paste or a clone but i notice that most people are starting to migrate on this platform .

I do not think it will die. It is a very interesting trading platform and it usually buys and sells tokens at very cheap prices. It is a must-have for bounty hunters and professional ICO investors.

Since the forkdelter has hardfork with etherdelta, things has been very difficult for etherdelta and forkdelter has become the most favorite decentralized ethereum market.  The volume of trade has drastically reducing and of a truth since 2017 I have not used etherdelta for trading and most of the tokens that I have sold was done in forkdelter.  However,  the current happening may not lead to the death of etherdelta and it is still too early to judge what is going to happen since etherdelta has survived this long.

I agree with this. I also logged in recently and withdrew some coins, I didn't have much on there, only 0.5 ETH, but it was still there and there was no problem withdrawing. EtherDelta may not be a great experience and may not have good volumes, but I don't think it's a scam.

It is possible to do something better, but for the moment there is no perfect decentralised exchange. This is the sort of thing that is a barrier to mainstream adoption. If it is only the more technically adept members of the population that are able to even buy crypto in the first place,  let alone use centralised and then decentralised exchanges, then crypto will not fulfill its potential.
But I think we are moving in the right direction. I've only been in crypto for a couple of years, and user experience is slowly but steadily improving. I do think we will get there eventually.

Its already dead some of traders who use that exchange are using now forkdelta, but I think it's not really recommended to use I feel that using that kind of exchange is not really secured. Much better to use exchange that have strong security that no one can steal your coins.

I meant that utility tokens were not so necessary. Basically their role was to be a speculation tool or a tool for ICO scams. Security tokens are something else. They are somewhat similar to shares. At least they have real value. But on forkdelta, 90% of tokens are junk. And by the way, the functioning of this exchange loads the ethereum network with these useless transactions of unnecessary tokens.

Though this is not the fault of EtherDelta but people blame the site for it, that time this exchange was really popular as it was the first DEX I guess and it grown due to the success of the ICO, I can still remember that I bought cheap bounty rewards in the past in ED that pump during the bull run, and that was EDG iirc.

FD is just a birth child of etherdelta born of necessity. After the hack it was necessary to fork. The interface looks pretty the same for me except for a tight security architecture. Its the same for me

Today Coinmarketcap.com changes EtherDelta with ForkDelta in their Market list tab. This will cost EtherDelta most of the remaining traffic.

When i was newbie, i use Etherdelta for treading. It was good but i found their hosting quality & security, at a low level. Besides it's risky when you have to give them your private key, before start trading.

Even though it was old news, but it is just on the agenda. Etherdelta is really a popular exchange, which a lot of people like you have made first trade on this platform. But as you said the developments from the exchange are very bad at the moment. Maybe the teams will make something about that for increasing the exchange, on the contrary as you mentioned it can be good history.

There is no single person who will prefer Etherdelta just because this exchange has a good history compared to the new DEX markets. i just test the site out and it loads slow but not dead at all  . dunno where they got the false info but maybe they are also experiencing delays and also ed could have been down temporarily last time but thankfully they are back now  .  you shouldnt also have to worry bout your private keys because its a decentralized exchange anyway  not unlike from centralized ones that they can hold all your coins   . no need to panic or create a new wallet  .  if the old wallet works fine then just continue using it

If Etherdelta died its kinda worries me about storing my private key on Etherdelta.
It is possible that the developer of Etherdelta might gather all our coins in our vulnerable wallet.
So do you think that we should create a new wallet for safety?

In decentralized exchange once you logout your keys are out and not retain in the exchange, so nothing to worry about, the reason why Ed should not die is the fact that anyone can sell their erc20 token even before that token get listed, that's their uniqueness and why hunters use them alot,
My only problem with them is their slowness, they are not as fast as you would have wanted them, but they still get the job done, Fd and Ed used to be the place to dump tokens immediately without waiting on exchange, now I guess people have move on to better dex, the devs needs to restructure the place to keep it running.

There are a lot of trusted good decentralized exchanges nowdays.

Are you sure? This is a decentralized exchange which have no control over your funds, you have access to your keys, maybe they got hacked, too bad you lost your funds, they were very popular dex and many people use them, now we have better dex with good ui and smooth performance.

None of them truly decentralized like etherdelta. The problem of etherdelta appeared since the subpoena that already sent by SEC. The latest dex that exists in the market can't be called the dex as if those new dex are truly decentralized exchange site and it's almost impossible for one of them has already hacked.

Both exchanges are ancient, and very few investors choose to trade at these two decentralized exchanges. If I were to choose, I would choose IDEX because this exchange is much better and is always trusted by everyone. Of course, the liquidity is better, so I won't use the two exchanges you are referring to. Also, you can also consider a new option is Binance Dex because this is the option that people are interested in recently.

Does anybody know why there is no development about Etherdelta respective Forkdelta? It is a great dex but could be developed further. There are so many little things that could be integrated there.
