why they (scammers) get verified badge? yes, sometimes i get message by pm twitter, to click links, i think this is scammer too
The scammers are hacking or buying accounts of users who are unrelated to cryptocurrency and have verified badges. They are then changing the names and pictures on the account to impersonate cryptocurrency people like the one in the picture.

Very useful information. I think it's necessary to be very cautious, unfortunately there are also swindles on the Internet. Twitter should monitor and prune such actions.

This is really insane, would be nice if these people would try and improve the community. Some of this stuff is "smart", so their brains could be used differently.

But in retrospect, people will learn from this and be smarter in the future. Some mistakes are necessary and some lessons are indeed expensive but at the cost of learning.

Thats why some people are afraid to enter in cryto world, we cannot eliminate those scammers, but we can avoid them. Before you do something always think twice before you begin. Dont trust people that are offering something. Sometimes our commonsense is enough to avoid those scammer. Always becareful because scammers are everywere there are just waiting for the right person and for the right timing.

Not only are the scammers doing the fake accounts that say "send .02 BTC and get triple" but apparently now they are either buying verified accounts or hacking them and changing the names and pictures to cryptocurrency people. Now it can actually be hard to tell if someone is scamming.

Really shitty that this is happening. Be careful everyone
Greedy people believe in what they can get many times just by sending money away. Do not stupidly think in such newsletters on twitter because they are impostors. No stupid person can give you anything only one send from you.

Well, I have experienced such kind of scam on Facebook, A page called Stellar Lumens shared my two public posts/photos and they are claiming some giveaway, I even reported these pages to Facebook but Facebook didn't take any action. This is very disappointing to see that scammers are using these popular sites without any trouble, strict action must be taken to stop these scammers.

Thank you very much for this important warning! It is so sad that people are using technology to steal from others!
It is important to emphasis, especially to crypto currencies' newbies, that giving away/losing your private key to strangers is equal to removing your front door in front of burglars!

Well after this if there's someone asking you to send them money don't do that even if they verified on twitter. You should be making a research before trusting someone to hold your money. Honestly, I just don't get it with those who trust some random people on the internet. There are a lot of scammers trying to take advantages on beginners in crypto. If anyone have friends that interested in crypto, teach them and let them know all about cryptocurrencies, don't let them get scammed. If a lot of peoples get scammed they won't believe in cryptocurrency.
This is why I always tell those newbies, to not giving someone their private key, sending coin to people that claimed they can double their coins, making them rich in one night, blah, blah, and blah, preventing criminal is not an easy thing but at least we can teach people how to protect their wealth and not to get scam easily.

And they are using every opportunity they get. Just when Elon Musk shot his tesla into space with his new Falcon Heavy 9, you could find exactly those scam attempts written in the name of Musk: 'Give me 0.2ETH and you get 2 ETH back, to celebrate the successful start of the new rocket!' I really hope nobody actually believed that!

I think the idea of earning bitcoin quickly just by sending to an unknown address is quite shady already. As bitcoin is gaining popularity in the mainstream news it is now treated as an asses thus if you value your bitcoin it would be under your own decision to send it to an unknown wallet. We should never think that earning bitcoin so quickly is the best way to multiply it. I feel for those who fall into this kinds of scam. Scammers like these only arise if there are people that are willing to be fooled.
