Will Ripple (XRP) ever go back to $3 again? Can it recover?

XRP is one of the coins in my portfolio that I am always questioning if I should keep or if I should sell. It was one of my first crypto currency investments (when it was still around USD 0.20), so I would like to see it succeed and I hope it can reach its all time high at some point this or next year.

I invested some time to go through all the comments in this thread one by one.
I took a positive comment as "Yes" and a negative comment as "No"and in between as "Maybe".
Here is my  summary

Ripple is still 3rd most popular currencies in the world of crypto after Bitcoin and  Ethereum. MIT recognized Ripple Labs as one of 2014's 50 Smartest Companies for its creation of the Ripple protocol (RTXP) and the Ripple payment network. It was creating so much fuzz that people speculated it might takeover Bitcoin during this time Ripple hit its peak $3.65 and reached to No.2 above Ethereum.

But then... crash... crypto crashed and as of today Ripple stands at:
XRP = $0.92 USD (coin market)

It has dropped -75% from its peak value of $3.65

It's ok whole market was down but they recovered at least some level like Bitcoin from peak of $20k to $6k and now at $9.5k (-50%). Same to all currencies famous crypto currencies but Ripple did not come close to its original position since than.

Here is $36 billion dollar question will Ripple will go back 3$ again?

Ripple has been in the news with so catchy titles like

"Ripple extends partnerships to India, Singapore"
"Saudi Central Bank to Test Ripple Payments Tech"
"Cuallet’s Money Transfer Service Integrates Ripple’s xRapid"

Also its over heard "Starbucks Will Accept Ripple (XRP) in 2018" but to be honest I guess none is helping Ripple to recover to its previous state.

Reasons it has been criticized for not being truly decentralized also, Ripple distribution of the original limited amount of XRP currency has met with a fair amount of controversy too.

We can't predict the future but Ripple team is working hard to get partnerships with Banks and with exchanges which might result Ripple as another fiat money dressed up like crypto. (That's my opinion)

What you guys think of Ripple (XRP) does it have potential to shape the crypto world? Or will be merely another crypto currency?
Can Ripple go back to $3+ again?

It is possible the ripple will reach to price again. There are lots of entities (banks, governments)  using ripple net. Though there is no direct involvement in XRP but still can promote the ripple (XRP) in the market.

When the market goes back, maybe ripple will go back to $3.65. The market is very weak now, only the bitcoin rise a little nearly, the other dips deeper and deeper.

Maybe we will see ripple go back to the peak in the next waves.

For XRP it is possible to reach $3, but not earlier than in the end of 2018 or in 2019, I think. Also it is possible only if the market will grow crazy like it happen in the end of 2017.

I think Ripple won't go back to $3 easily. It need some time to bounce back to where it was. And also BTC should be stable to make altcoins rise again.

Its hard to tell if it will ever go up to the huge levels as before.
I think it will go to 2$ again when Coinbase will add it but after that it is very hard to predict, we would need another huge hype.

Why do so many people believe in XRP? It seems to have been rumored that they do not actually have the technologies they claim to be.

do not call XRP crypto, it is far from crypto principles, it`s just a coin
it was heavily pumped to a bubble and personally i hope it will not go to $3, there`s a lot cryptos that deserve growth more then ripple

Ripple is used actively by different bank groups. Some experts think that Ripple management and banks use often influence of their currency to change positions of other currencies on the market.

The banks are testing Ripple and if they do not jump on board with Ripple the coin might be worthless!
Also, Ripple  could be defined as a security not a crypto by US Government: This worries me! That is why exchanges will not list it!

I like Ripple but it worries me!

so the ripple price to $5 could happen in 2019

I think Ripple did a lot of wrong steps and now can not move away from it. Their trial with R3 essentially provoked a crisis.

I'm still bullish on ripple. there has been too many partnerships, tests and news this year for it not to come back....once we clear this red market i think we will see a rise. and eventually coinbase will have to list it.
