The prize is $180 USD payable in BTC at the Crypto Currency Conference 2013. You must be present to win. The prize amount equates to the admittance cost of attending the conference.

The cost per ticket is $1.25 USD worth of BTC, and you can buy as many tickets as you desire. The Bitcoin address to use when purchasing the tickets is 1M72Sfpbz1BPpXFHz9m3CdqATR44Jvaydd of which belongs to Sean's Outpost. Each ticket sold will add to the tally maintain on the following thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295211.0 The Blockchain will be used to verifly how many tickets you purchased.

This thread (the one you're reading) will keep track of tickets sold in post #2. At the conference, same sized pieces of paper will have a number on them corresponding to purchaser. For instance, if the first person purchased 10 tickets, then they would have 10 tickets with the number 1 written on each sheet placed in the proverbial fish bowl.

The entry period will end about an hour prior to the drawing, of which probably will take place toward the end of the conference on Saturday.

You must be present at the conference to win, but if a person entered has to leave prior to the drawing, simply let me know, whereupon at the time of the drawing all will know that you were indeed in attendance, but not present for the drawing if your name happens to be drawn.

The raffle WILL be conducted as fairly as possible. Please only enter if you're planning on attending. All others who desire to donate, please go the following thread to do such if you're not attending the conference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295211.0

Any questions, please ask via this thread so that all others can see the answer, of which I'll add them to this post via an edit.

Thank you.

Bruno Kucinskas

PS: Who'll be the first to dole out $1.25 for a single entry?

Boy, this is taking off like a lead zeppelin. I'm going to take the liberty and buy two tickets for Austin and Beccy Craig of Life on Bitcoin. It's probably a safe assumption that all the speakers may have their tickets paid for, including them, but a special case could be made considering their cause. They will only be allowed two tickets total. I'm toying with the idea of having Beccy do the actual drawing around 4:45 PM, but to show that there's no monkey business, if by chance she happens to pull her or Austin's name from the fish bowl, it will be honored with another drawing taking place immediately so that some other in attendance would also be a winner, of which I will also fund. The odds should be in my favorite that that won't happen, but I'll be fully prepared if it does.

Once at the conference, and am rubbing shoulders, I may (no promises) be able to get some other Bitcoin entity(s) to match my prize, thus having multiply winners.

I'm curious as to how many pages this thread would be up to if I were offering a 1% daily return on investment.

I donated 0.04 BTC pretty recently, if that counts.

Yes and no. But, this is what I'll do. Since you have donated to Sean's Outpost and are attending the conference in Atlanta, I'll put you in for [1] ticket. I'll do the same for anybody else how has donated in the past and IS attending the conference, with no need to contribute to said cause again.

I think that's fair.

I'm in Murfreesboro, TN, staying at the Microtel. This raffle is lookin' kind of lame, but I have hopes of it doing fairly well once at the conference. I brought along special paper to write the numbers on for the drawing.

Bump.

In Atlanta now, staying at... (shit, almost give it away).

Remember, it's only $1.25 USD via Bitcoin per ticket to win your admittance fee ($180 USD) to the conference, with all the proceeds going toward Sean's Outpost.

1M72Sfpbz1BPpXFHz9m3CdqATR44Jvaydd

I'm toyin' with the idea of hunting down one of them gallon glass jugs to collect change (only--no bills--preferably only quarters). Toward the end of the conference, the change will be counted and purchased dollar-for-dollar with bitcoins, all of which will be sent to Sean's Outpost Bitcoin address above.

The goal is to confiscate all quarters from the conference-goers, with hopefully somebody will offer up a clue as to how to accomplish said task.

In case you'll haven't figured it out, my intent is to have fun during the event, along with taking away some takeaways. In that vein, since I didn't read any dress code requirements, I took the liberty and purchased a custom, of sorts.

One more thing: It will cost exactly $1.25 USD via Bitcoin to have a photo of you standing next to me, with all proceeds going to... You guessed it!

I locked this thread this morning due to not being able to follow through on this raffle mainly due to the forum being down.

But, I have good news, albeit not so for four people (really, probably only two). I have declared a winner sans any drawing. That person is grantbdev.

grantbdev PM'ed be asking if the drawing took place, for he wasn't around till the end of the conference. Guess why? He was the one that had the seizure, thus missing the bulk of it. Like I just wrote to him, since BitcoinTalk was down and I couldn't conduct the raffle as I planned, in my mind I was thinking about reimbursing the guy's admittance cost that had the seizure if I was only able to find out for sure who he was, never in my wildest dreams it was one of the five in Post #2 of this thread.

I'm pretty sure that none of the other people on the list will be upset with this gesture. I've already asked grantbdev for a Bitcoin address so that I can remit his winnings.

I do request something though just to make doubly sure that it was grantbdev that went down at the conference. Can anybody here vouch for grantbdev one way or another so that I can relieve all doubt from my mind that it was truly him that had the seizure? I'm not looking for any definitive proof, for any member's word posted in this thread should suffice.

I highly doubt that grantbdev is pulling some scam, for in no way was he asking for any bitcoins. It was I that declared him the winner due to him having to leave early from the conference. I'm not sure, but I believe there was some hot nurse he wanted to see oppose to seeing Tony's Simpson cartoon and listening to Charlies' stupid jokes.  Grin

Again, if anybody can vouch that it truly was grantbdev that had the seizure, please state such in this thread for all to see, for I'm ready to refund his $180 USD via BTC.

It would not feel right for me to personally accept this:
a) As a student, I paid $99 in BTC for my ticket.
b) The conference already gave me a refund and a free video pass.

Give the BTC to Sean's Outpost instead.

Per wishes, $180 has been donated to Sean's Outpost.

Apologies for the raffle not going as planned, but I hope this act doesn't leave a bad taste in anybody's mouth.
