Running Tally: [2,703] Meals!

Self-labeling this an innovation, hence starting this thread in the Discussion Section.

I'll start (outlining the goal of this thread below the fold): https://blockchain.info/tx/a73447e8653084b9afee5178f7430c2b93229acdd101c4ecdd09e183bdca1115

Jason King has been doing some amazing things behind the scenes pertaining to Bitcoin. Besides Sean's Outpost, he's now embarking on Satoshi Forest.

Quote
When we break down cost, it runs about $1.25 to make a bagged lunch and get it delivered to a homeless person.

Upon reading the above, I couldn't shake an idea outta my head, thus decided to do something about it, hence this thread.

Only with your help will the title of this thread live up to its namesake. Together, let's see how many people one thread can feed.

Post #2 will showcase the tally, sans names of the kind donors. All I ask of posters is to supply the count number (one being the minimum at only $1.25--five US quarters) and the link to the Blockchain address/hash.

I'm donating once a day to act as a daily bump for this thread in case it stagnates. For those in other countries used to their local currency, simply get it close enough, whereupon it'll be counted as the desired $1.25 USD.

Feel free to donate multiples of $1.25, but at least once is all that's asked.

For what it's worth, down the road some man, woman or child you'll never meet will be thanking you for their $1.25 meal while you're setting in your favorite chair with a full bully playing a $50 game on an XBox.

For simplicity purposes, consider using the following format:

Number to be fed at $1.25 each thanks to your donation: Blockchain Hash URL

1: https://blockchain.info/tx/a73447e8653084b9afee5178f7430c2b93229acdd101c4ecdd09e183bdca1115

(I donated $1.25: Blockchain Proof)

EDIT: As shown at the beginning of this post, some alt coins can be donated as well, with the corresponding addresses provided. Feel free to use a similar format if one of them is used so that I can do a quick check via the provided link and add to the tally in Post #2.

Great idea for a thread! Bitcoin is trading at around $125 at the moment so that makes it easy: I'll donate 0.1 BTC (-fee) to feed 10 people:

Awesome, the only thing weird is you're using a btc address you use for personal stuff?

You should check out MRE's they're good in my opinion and you can get them super cheap.

Yeah man. We actually have barrels and barrels of MRE stuffs in reserve at the outpost, literally. I also keep them in my trunk for when I see guys out and about outside of normally schedule sharings.  They are great because they are shelf stable and keep for damn near ever.

We don't use them everyday, because they are actually fairly expensive. The link you showed is just the side dishes from an MRE. A full MRE is $5-6. So we stockpile them for emergencies/disasters. Hurricanes are prevalent down here.

We can build a complete meal and deliver it for a much lower price point ($1.25) that's why we do that on a daily basis.

Good looking out though!

The Anatomy of a Sean's Outpost Sack Lunch. This is the exact meal that is being delivered today.

The sandwich is ham and pepperoni.

Move over Roger Ver! I don't think he could do the same with $1.25 USD. (in ref. to Jesus feeding a group with one fish)

More comments, another donation, and updating Post #2 forthcoming.

Awesome! At first I thought you made a mistake with the decimal placement till I read further. Following your lead (math wise), I just sent BTC0.01 (I've got to figure out the proper placement of the BTC symbol, moreover, what's more aesthetically pleasing).

1: https://blockchain.info/tx/1d02a0b34154bd7d1a282792ba168780cb55b0146a5d3b8c07b8a49e9e9d9446

Some 12 year old child may be thanking you because of this donation. (no apologies for using child to further this cause, for it's not outside the realm of possibility that that's the case)

Great initiative! I will donate something when I'll get back at home this evening.

Thanks, bud. Hope all is well in TN. BTW, I'm the one who had the contract to set the windows and doors, paint, wallpaper, insulate, and install the metal studs, drywall, acoustic ceilings, and cove base at the then new http://www.williamsonmedicalcenter.org/. Perhaps, one of your kids was born there.

Awesome, once more. Will up Post #2 in a sec.

BTW, if anybody wants to following the lead of this thread and take the incentive to do the same over at Reddit or some other social media site, please do. But please realize that it'll take a little work to man it properly. Once a day or so, post in this thread the current or running tally so that I can add it to Post #2 of this thread.

To date, the following number of people will be fed:
