Yeah, any statement should be backed with proofs. But I'm really surprised that there are many cases when hackers return stolen crypto... I'm glad that there are a lot of kind and honest people but I wonder what drive them to do it?

I have been read this news on some blog crypto webs, but i don't really fully trust this because it comes from some not popular blog's source. In addition, I will not believe that any kind hacker will return such huge money about $17M to the place where it has been stolen.

Really? Can you provide the source of this news? If this news is real, I think it's really terrible. There are a lot of ways to keep crypto safe but people still too careless and give hackers chance to hack their cryptocurrency easily . For me, I often keep all important information related to my cryptocurrency in another clear computer.

It looks like an inside job, How the address can be replaced with fake address easily. It looks like that just another inside job to make the people are so noisy with that hack case.
That's pretty odd to see hacker with 17 million dollars are returning the amount to the coindash team without any reason.

Could also be a cover though... CoinDash could be stealing ETH from others and disguising it as "Hacker returns ETH", instead of blatantly calling it "CoinDash steals ETH". If the story is true, it's definitely a nice hacker!
Worthy to mention though, is that is mentioned in the article that Cybersecurity forces are watching his address and attempting to track him down. It could be possible that he hopes to do a trade: He gives some ETH and goes free?

According to these stories, the hacker would've kept MILLIONS of dollars worth of Ethereum... I mean... A couple million dollars would already buy you anything you want... So he might want to get the authorities off his ass by paying this.

Thanks for sharing the source. As the other users i was thinking this was a fake new because just can't find the source but now looks legit.

This is a weird act. Is hard to find honest people now days and this can mean only two things:

1.- The hacker did it for fun, he was a white hat hacker, and for sure he helps to fix the vulnerability.

2.- The hacker realized there was a problem with his perfect hack, and he decided to give the money back before hit jail.

Any way, he did it and was an honest act. We need more people like him in the world!

Whether true or false it will help the community and the industry to get back on its feet, people are still wondering if their account is safe in their wallet and exchanges, and this news answer everything I'm speculating its an inside job.
