What have you done? Did you download and sync the Ardor wallet?
If you had NXT on 2017-12-28 on an account where you have control over your keys (passphrase) and with an address that is visible on a blockchain explorer then you have Ignis, but to move them you must install the client.

You can check at a block explorer - the one I know is https://ardor.tools/. Take your NXT address, replace "NXT" by "ARDOR" and search for it, and you should see that you have an IGNIS balance.

If you had your NXT on an exchange, then it's another story ... AFAIK only AEX has "unfrozen" IGNIS for trading.

Couple questions..
Im downloading the nxt blockchain and the connection seems to 'halt' over and over again.. I turned off my firewall completely and the same thing happens.. using the most recent client.. is this common?
.. i wish i held these back in 2014.. I remember the first nxt exchange but forget the name, where nxt and a few others were sold (nas?) anyone remember the name or if the sites still around?

update java to the latest version and let it download the chain, my download via wired connection was a looong time.  You can also download the chain online but I never found the exact place.  Anyways if  you never turn your pc off and update java it will run a lot faster.

Hey guys, I've been holding nxt a decent amount of time.  Glad to be on board and buying the dips.  I believe that the coin will have a use It already does in Austria.

That's not my take on it at all.  Imo that's fud people are spreading around so that you sell short.  NXT will be used imo, and it will be used quite frequently.  Weather the devs finish the project or not doesn't mean anything bad.  If it aint broke, don't fix it.

buy ignis now is the right time because the price will reach a high exchange rate even though it takes a long time for it but be patient it is not wrong. the price of $ 5 per coin is a huge advantage if you buy it now

People surely don't want to hear that, but this is incorrect.

The JPL is a software license. It only covers the copyright of the source code of the NXT implementation from 1.11.6 on. If someone wants to make a clone and don't airdrop coins to NXT holders, then he/she has 2 options:

- 1 - fork the NXT 1.11.5 code
- 2 - do an independent re-implementation of the protocol (e.g. in another programming language). The protocol itself cannot be "protected".

If Ardor or Nxt is successful, then clones will do ... exactly that. This is one of the reasons why I consider the JPL .... crap. They should have used the GPL and stay part of the open source community.

(I'm still bullish on ARDR. I think it's very innovative and solves various of the most severe problems of cryptocurrencies).

Do you believe NXT will have any utility in the future or do you think everyone will try to circumvent cutting in nxt holders? 

I'm pretty skeptic. I think Ardor is the successor of NXT. That means that NXT will eventually get marginalized if it isn't able to build an own ecosystem. Everybody that wants to invest in NXT and want to see its value grow, should look if he/she can do something to encourage its real-world usage - for example, as an ICO platform, like Jelurida is planning.

Otherwise, I see no way for NXT to hold its current value (temporary "hypes" or "pumps" aside). I would clearly choose  Ardor for long-term investments.

Yes, if you fork 1.11.6+ then the JPL is valid and the 10% would have to be distributed. But older versions use the GPL, and as far as I know 1.11.6 has no drastic improvements over 1.11.5.
