anyone have an eta on the ardor snapshot thing?

Starts at 1900 GMT tomorrow until block 1,000,000 on October 12th, at which time your NXT holdings every hour in that interval are averaged for the Ardor payout.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

You don't need to hold until then, you just have to hold some at some point in that period whilst snapshots are made to receive a share of the Ardor.

if you hold for 90 days you get 100%
if you hold for 10 days, you get 100% / (90 / 10)=11.1%
if you hold for 25 days, you get 100% / (90 / 25)=27.7%

Right, but it's important to note that it's proportional. So the longer you hold, the more Ardor you get at a 1:1 ratio.

BUY and hold, buy and hold, just a few months, stick em in a wallet and enjoy some time off, if you really wanted you could forge your ccoins whilst in the wallet, wether you do or dont it will still give you ARDOR (consider them as microsoft shares and made with the best ever created crowd funder ever)

ARDOR is the goal !!

i must say there is something written about the exchanges choose how they want to distribute their ARDOR's

NXT looks sexier by the day, green dildos some days, getting hornier.

I'm trying to get my head around the new developments with NXT.

  • Which wallet is it best to store NXT to get Ardor: the version 1.9.2 wallet, an online wallet, the lite wallet, the browser wallet, or a wallet on an exchange?
  • Will all these wallets work to receive the maximum rewards?
  • Do the wallets work like POS where you have to synch to get the 'snapshot' rewards?
  • How will you receive Ardor?
  • Will it be sent to your NXT wallet, or will you have to claim it from an exchange?
  • Will you have to create a separate wallet for Ardor?

Thanks.

Hi!!

Of course, like every crypto, is better if you download the wallet and store the funds on your pc (sync your peer downloading the blockchain). This way you strenghten the network.

you can download the wallet from here: https://nxt.org/download/

The network is POS, but once you sent the coin to your address, even if you turn off your pc, you'll still receive ardor on the 12th of October in a form of NXT asset.

I'm trying to get my head around the new developments with NXT.

Which wallet is it best to store NXT to get Ardor: the version 1.9.2 wallet, an online wallet, the lite wallet, the browser wallet, or a wallet on an exchange?
Does the wallet work like POS where you have to synch to get the 'snapshot' rewards?

How will you receive Ardor?
Will it be sent to your NXT wallet, or will you have to claim it from an exchange?
Will you have to create a separate wallet for Ardor?

Choices from most safe to least safe:

version 1.9.2 Core wallet -> web wallet like https://wallet.mynxt.info -> wallet on an exchange

Thanks MrCluster87 and freshman777. I became very interested in NXT after reading this CoinTelgraph article which was published a few hours ago:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/nxtardor-platform-to-make-blockchain-cheaper-and-safer

At this moment I'm synching the NRS Version 1.9.2 wallet after installing Java on my 64-bit Windows 7 computer, which you have to do to run the NXT wallet. It looked technical at first, but I found it very easy in the end. Links to the Java and the 1.9.2 wallet are on the NXT website as MrCluster87 has pointed out:  https://nxt.org/download/

I'm assuming that it is the same NRS Version 1.9.2 wallet downloadable from other sites that freshman777 gave the link to:  https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-9-2/

NXT works a little bit differently to the QT wallets I'm used to. NXT has a server which works in the background in addition to the wallet. The server doesn't seem to take up too many resources and is automatically installed. It synchs the wallet in the background. The wallet updates whether it is open, or closed.

Your address for receiving NXT is your account number and is comprised of 5 blocks of characters separated by hyphens looking like this: NXT-****-****-****-*****.  When you Withdraw NXT from an exchange there is an extra window for a 'message' and I think you have to put your public key there. The account number and public key are given to you upfront when you open an account (when first opening a wallet).
