Someone's trying to make the price jump or something. We are seeing a lot of coins being sold for >$200.
This is a good thing, or a hopeless attempt?  Undecided

Needs a FTFY ^

Wonder how it is getting LB data... "bid: 0.11    ask: 400.00"

Bitcoinity topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=22929.0

ETA: Refreshed, now bid: 154.72    ask: 154.72

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

So from a low of $122 to a High of $190+ no one can predict what will happen tomorrow. This volatility is the reason people get excited. With the new 400 Gh/s to couple of Th/s each machine would make it even more fun to mine.

Hey, I sell bitcoins for 500$! Wanna buy some?

That doesn't mean people will actually buy it.

Some "bought" 1,4? BTC for that price. 252 i think.
Maybe some typo or newb - or just unpatient long term ...

 high: 254.00      low: 101.51

Doesn't mean anything.
Even IRL sometimes it happens that some1 sells/buys 50% lower/higher. Mistake, bad decision, personal stuff (divorced woman/widow whats to sell that house ASAP for "any" price ...)
Won't affect prices of houses in US or CA or even that little city.

Just bitcoin is very volatile - so some1 sae 25- - OK I am not selling under 230 - prices rise.
Also manipulation can occur.

Hmmmmm. Did the transaction really occur or is it possible that someone did that and then cancelled it before paying?
Or maybe an alt, and no payment was sent?

There is too much fraud and scamming going on at LBC, I tried using it and had all sorts of bs to deal with.

Would not trust the price on there at the moment until they fix their issues.

Exactly - or some1 bought from himself or friend "real" 200mBTC to "rise value" of bitcoin - basically fake the price.

I did some research on the topic, and, it's probably location.
LocalBitcoins is NOT an online exchange necessarily, it's a road map that leads to bitcoin-to-cash brokers.
In Chicago, you can get away with $100 a coin, but some of these places more dislocated (and american) would make perfectly reasonable places if you're a doctor who defaulted your college loan or something and won't be using an exchange any time soon.
At that you're seeing the sales of all the cash exchanges. In april a few coins went for $400.
Hey, I sell bitcoins for 500$! Wanna buy some?

That doesn't mean people will actually buy it.
The chart lists past sales, not past offers.
On localbitcoins when buying with cash:
1) You pay premium to meet up in person.
2) Some people are a newcomers wanting to buy their "first" bitcoins.

That makes it an ideal place for an occasional ridiculously high offers.
Absolutely. Smiley

How about we get someone to make a trade for one satoshi at $100,000 and paint the tape?  Then we can say it's an omen.

I do many typos, but why to intend one?
