Mobile "money" payment is already popular in developing countries, especially African countries. Mobile payments account for at least $1 billion worth of transactions per day. So it is already here in terms of usage. That being said the baseline currency is fiat money as these payments are triangulated through the banking sector. Before it comes to cryptocurrencies its two things: (1) the banking sectors accept cryptos (decentralized and anonymous as the community likes it) or (2) businesses on their own accept cryptos as payments, and then go the extra mile to convert into fiat to balance their books and records. Coz at the end of the day, business still fall under government regulations.

Do you like the idea of paying using your mobile phone? What if it is Bitcoin? Can you track your daily expenses with the price changing every minute? Do you think this will be a good idea to give your child his/her allowance? What if the price went down fast in a sec? Will you use it while in a down price or will you choose to forget about buying your stuff instead of making a transaction with your funds in a low market price?
Paying using our mobile phones? Ask Paypal. What if it is Bitcoin? Well there's Coins available for Asian Countries. Since it started, I've been using its online payment service to pay my electric, water and internet bills without wasting time to fall in line to their counters. The volatility thought, if the price gets too wild like UP/DOWN $1000 a day, I prefer to keep and convert my funds there as BTC or Fiat depending on the flow in the market. The wallet works like a mini exchange that is easy to utilize for extra profit without sending the funds back to exchange/wallet. If this is too new for you, you're looking at the wrong direction.

If this is what OP talking about, then this is not a news. These are just mobile wallets, and as far as I recall these have been around for a while like Apple pay, Samsung pay, Google pay and etc. India's mobile wallet market has also bloomed since the demonization. Well, the OP is relating these Mobile Wallets to the future if bitcoin is the one being transacted. Just read again the post of the OP, I think you are misunderstanding the OP's post. And I think it is a news since little by little, fiat are being replaced by these mobile wallets especially in China where they state the term "Cash is already pretty much dead". Those apply pay, google pay and etc aren't crytpo and not available in the market for us, I don't think that is a good investment for people wanting to profit after holding a period of time while also using it to send fee for transactions made. STK I think is a good option for mobile payments.

I watched a video earlier about Chinese people using mobile payment. I don't know if it was a practice years ago, but that news has caused me so much thinking.

Are you prepared for this? Because the future has so much to offer. We should be more aware and ready.
I remember reading a post somewhere which mentioned that price of bitcoins will reach $500000 by 2030 mainly because of the increasing penetration of smartphones all over the world. The mobile use is already increasing at a rapid rate. In my country there are companies that have completely revolutionized the smartphone internet plans. They did it by offering free high speed internet for one year to all users. When these users became addicted to mobile internet, the company started charging money and was still able to retain most of the customers.

I think not like what you say and think. in essence, only innovations to facilitate mobile payments. the rest, depending on yourself, prefer which one. but all cases are the same.

Mobile payment definitely will become the future. There are much more benefits compared to using cash. Let us take China for example. The reason why mobile payment boomed is due to: 1. There are risks of accepting fake currency for cash 2. Everyone is using Wechat, you almost can't find someone not using it 3. It is made such that the platforms are linked directly to banks so transferring in and out isn't a hassle. There are much more reasons. With our technology advancing day by day, bulk usage of mobile payment in our everyday lives should be common. In the Crypto community, there are lots of companies focusing in the transfer of fiat to crypto and vice versa. It definitely beats the stack of cash I keep in my pocket and being cautious in a crowded area.

Add to this cheap low earth orbit satelites and you have an affordable global internet, all thanks to Elon Musk

Mobile payments are becoming a key instruments for PSPs and other market participants in order to achieve new growth opportunities. New technogy solutions provide a direct improvement to the operations efficiency, ultimately resulting in cost savings and in a increase in business volume.

I guess this is one weakness and stregth of Bitcoin. Many people like me are encouraged to be more active with it due to the fluctuation of its value where you can actually earn bigtime once its value hit the peak. However, due to this making it as a mode of payment becomes hard where the willing merchants and other users as well would need to have that risk appetite to wait or lose or earn the value in an indefinite time.

In our country it was already happening. We have here what we called coins.ph. It is a digital wallet where we can store our bitcoin and ethereum. We can use this wallet as a payment in some other stuffs such as paying a utilities expenses. It can be downloaded from playstore and appstore.

i don't think this is a problem for us. if mobile payment has come, it is okay. most of mobile payment have centralized database. bitcoin and other crypto still have advantages because it is decentralized.

The first bitcoin payment issue is the unstable price, I will cancel my purchase if the bitcoin price is falling far away, because if I do not do that I will be a big loss especially if the price is below my purchase price.

I've also watch that video. They pointed out that it cannot be done in western countries because they value privacy over convinience. But how ever, it make me think that its also possible in using crpytocurrency but not bitcoin because of network congestion. I believe that it may be done somewhere in the future and make a difference in a payment system that we use today.

Mobile payment is now the most popular, convenient and safe. People in a new age like to use mobile payment. If bitcoin is used as a mobile payment tool, it is believed to be even more valuable.

I think using cryptocurrency for mobile payments is suitable for some African countries. Because their national currency is not stable, mobile payments using encrypted currencies are more convenient and safer than other legal currencies. But in other countries this may not be more convenient for them.

When you make a purchase and want to pay the desired amount you need to just scan the bill copy QR code from your bank app. Once the bank app recognise the QR code the payment would be sent automatically from your bank account to the merchant, this way you don't need a card or fiat to make a payment.

There are several projects working on mobile crypto payments. One project doing that is Tip. Tip will change the way cryptocurrency payments are sent around the world. The Tip blockchain uses usernames instead of crypto addresses for transactions, and you can find other people by searching by username. Usernames on there work just like twitter handles. Learn more on their website: https://tipblockchain.io or chat with the team on Telegram: https://t.me/TipBlockchainFull disclosure, I am the founder of the Tip Blockchain project.
