Mining any cryptocurrency with phone always take longer time to mine reasonable amount. Some uses data and sometimes run your phone battery down.

Electroneum released mobile mining App on Android and Apple. That's looks pretty cool. Have you tried that and what do you think about that?

The application is a bomb, for those who want to collect a free ETN.And also very promising crypto currency. You want to try your luck and take part in the weekly drawing for 5000 ETN ?! And there is such an opportunity! Or you wanna be an investor for a long time? No problem! Application is great. In the section "more", get coins for free, a weekly drawing of 5000 coins takes place. You can participate by entering someone else's code and then sharing your own code with others.

1. You can find the mining app in the store. Just search Electroneum, install it and then push start mining. (Available just for Android)
2. It`s a minin simulator. It usses minimal resources but the payment is real. Practically they pay you to run the app.
3. The purpose: imagine how you can monetize a network of 100 mil phones linked togheter.

Doesn't seem very efficient.

Cloud network is never that efficient as the bottleneck of the data transfer is significant.
Overall, it is even less environmentally friendly as even more energy is needed to be pumped into the system to enable not just the mining processes, but also for the data transfer on inefficient mobiles.
The process would also lower the lifespan of those devices + its batteries.

Its a neat gimmick though that is for sure. I won't invest in it.. but might explore the mining (maybe) just for the fun of it.

It is unsafe to participate in stuffs like this
Because your phone would become vulnerable
Your phone would get damaged and the app is definitely a fake one too

The info in the app says: "Your mobile phone doesn't actually mine like a desktop miner would, instead we benchmark your device and allocate it with a hashrate that it would be able to acheive if it were actually mining. You will then be allocated the amount of ETN you would receive if you actually mined a block."

The question why it is not actually mining is answered: "Mobile phones are not built to withstand or cope with the complex calculations required to perform actual crypto mining, your phone would overheat very quickly and potentially damage hardware. So instead we give you a mining experience which has all the rewards of actual mining with none of the complexities of having to setup mining software, a mining rig, ventilation etc."

Sounds nice but i don't get why they would do that. They don't use your phones calculating power for anything, they are really just simulating it.

I downloaded the app about an hour ago and started "mining". So far i got 0 ETN... I have a Moto G4+ which "runs" at 12 H/s. So far it doesn't get hot or stresses the battery. I will let it run overnight and see how much it makes, but I don't think that it is more than a fun gimmick.

Guys, lots of people above saying it will damage the phone etc... or hot battery. Please read the other comments.

IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY USE YOUR PHONE TO MINE. It's all simulated, they did a big premine of ETN which will be handed out to simulated mobile miners. It's basically an airdrop that introduces people to the world of cryptocurrency.

I think that the average phone should be given around 10 ETN a month, which isn't substantial for people in first world countries, but imagine if you're in India, Africa or the Philippines? 1$ to them is a decent amount of money, some of these people get paid less than 100$ a month. So this will be hugely beneficial for them. It also gets more people involved in crypto which is good for everyone.

It has been a long time ago for releasing this electroneum mining for pc and I think so much.
it was the one that used it but I did not have the idea that I was able to withdraw it or have earned it here.

I don't hold any ETN so I guess this is my chance to own a fraction of it somehow. I tried their mobile app mining today and I got 0.03 so far with 45k active miners are online. I am not sure if this will affect the lifespan of my android phone though but hopefully it won't. Let's see where will this mobile app mining will take me.

But even the Electroneum can be mined on android and IOS clients, but I think it's hard to produce ETH, because the phone's processor is poor, and it can damage the phone.

I do not know a lot about this mobile mining but if it is like mining on your pc it is not good. It can slow your phone or damage him. I believe it is something different which do not using your phone power

Do you think mobile mining is useful? I don't think so because it's wasting your data, battery and time. Mobile mining apps are not good for your phone.

Perhaps the whole point is not in mining, but in the development of a new branch in the industry ...

Yes today the release of Ethereum Mobile Mining. And I try, It's fun that I immediately mined 0.01 ETN. The number of miners is almost as high as 23,000 people. And because of too much Access is difficult for their app. Proof that so many people support ETN
LOL can you tell me about means of ethereum mobile mining? But this totally worthless. This developer was trying to make mining becomes easier but they were forgetting about the real purpose of the mining itself. Everyone can mine ETN with their own smartphone. I guess the android app already released a long time ago or i was wrong about that. I can't see any benefit through mine from our smartphone. That was having a better usefulness rather than become a mining tool for ETN.

POW itself has huge limitation and disadvantages. And mobile mining at the moment doesn't make much economic sense because it will reduce battery lasting hours and reduce battery life time.

Pretty interesting concept, I rarely use my phone's processing power to its potential, so I left it mining for a bit.  Was able to get a little bit of ETN without noticing much impact on battery life or anything.
