Walk of Shame

When I used to gamble with my friends. I rarely lose because I knew their reactions and facial expressions. However, I remember myself getting cocky. We bet on 500$. I thought that I was going to win at first. But when I lost, I was like "That is impossible...How did I lose when everything went smoothly and in my favor." I really got angry but I learned that I should never underestimate my opponent even if he always fails.

Overconfidence and arrogance clouds the mind of a person. One must avoid these two for his own safety and betterment. When a person starts thinking, he is perfect he stops being perfect rather improving. Besides, it is gambling we are talking about here. A game which outcome is decided on the basis of luck and there can be times when luck might not feel like helping us. That is why it is better to stay humble and much better to not lose 500 dollars this way.

I even wonder why anyone would want to be overconfident in gambling when it is not their father that owns the house edge.

As long as you do not consider the safety of your pocket and you want to gamble, it would be hard to control the impulse that comes with it and that is the main spot that ends up getting a lot of people screwed in the long run.

It is either you are in or you are out, and if you are fully in, you have the chances of messing yourself up and always walking that walk.

That was actually true and hilarious. Gambling is a decision that an individual makes out of his own free will. People become overconfident about their choice. Gambling is definitely not a game that can be learnt so becoming arrogant is pointless. Moreover, it is a game so many a times a person will come across failure and lose some money too. It is already known to all the players so losing a game is not anything to feel shame about. It is the part of any game.

Yes, theres no need to be shamed about since losing is always been part of gambling but when you already made foolish actions which do lead into compromising things then you will really felt out deep inside on where you would look down and ashamed in the things you had done. Walk of shame do happen if we made decisions which really arent appropriate to be done.

A lot of gamblers experience that. You are not a legit gambler if you didn't experience the walk of shame.  I saw a lot of people experience this and I don't want it to happen to me. What I am doing is to separate the money for daily needs and gambling. I will not gamble on the money that I needed, I will only use the money I can afford to lose. One of the gambling addict told me that and I practiced it ever since.

No. A lot of gamblers do not, but all unserious and indiscipline gamblers do. Everyone is bound to have that pulse to just keep going ahead and trying to push harder as you keep telling yourself it is for a good reason and no one has ever ended up coming out of it well at all. Walk of shame can happen to those who see gambling as an opportunity to get rich overnight by pushing their luck, but it does not work that way unfortunately.

I think it happened to me when I was in High School I lost all of my money in a bet ,
We played DOTA back then and we always manage to win but in a certain time we go to one of our School mates place to gamble and my team ended up losing .

If I were you, I would not consider that as a walk of shame, that's a great experience after all. High school days are the best, so you should consider it as one of your memorable and happiest days of your life(unless you hate to walk or you are doing it every day, then that's F* bad).

But that's embarrassing if you fail and at the same time your grades are failing too.

What a way to console someone who just had the worst experience of his life, but I like the angle and perspective you really brought it out though.

At least, he should look at the good side of it, but the unfortunate part is that there is really no good side to it. Walk of shame is a walk of shame and anyone who ends up having that kind of experience should sit down and rethink their life and the way forward. Good he did that.

I just want the guy to realize it and look at the positive side, who knows while walking, he found out something "Eureka" then the next day he plays better than the others. It is also a good stress reliever to walk after a stressful game.

But yeah, he should think about it if it is happening to him/her on daily.

And it is no hard for a person to check whether this one thing is suitable for him or not. If you are ignorant then we may comprise on your situation of misery, but majority are educated people. Did anyone here have experience a walk of shame (Walking home since you have a loss all your gambling money in just one snap)? Well, It did happen to me once and I'll never do that again. It was the bad year for me (Peek of my addiction), I normally left my atm/credit card at home if I were to visit a casino and have enough money wih some changes for my stay, food, drink and my fare. The first time it happens to me is when I was so frustrated because I can't win up to point I already spent my allocated money for my fare. I was devastated that I need to go home at 3 a.m. with no money literally and I haven't got a phone in me (which make it worst). Started walking from the casino going home it was the longest walk I ever made I pity myself and upon arriving at home my wife and my kids are already awake, I just can't bare to look at them. I don't even know what to say at that point. I just walk in shame, in front of my kids.

How about you, have experienced it? We all have different interpretation on "Walk of shame".

I have never been in this situation because I know how addictive gambling can be, so I try to stay away from it. I will however partake in sports betting or poker if given the chance, as the skill element can more than make up for the odds being stacked against you. That being said, I do have a little story of what happened to a friend of mine, this might get a little long, but stick around until the end as the ending is great.

So I was out with a few friends after a semi-drunken (semi meaning a few of us were drunk). We happened across a relatively large casino, my friend, being the idiot he is decided we should all go in there, have a few drinks at the bar and play a few slots. So everything is going well, we're all getting into the action and most of us have actually managed to win something, even I decided to play and managed to win a few bucks at the blackjack table. Then my friend (the most drunk of us all) decides to sit down at a 5/10 poker table, with about $1,000 in his stack. Surprisingly whilst drunk he gets a bunch of lucky hands in a row, I'm talking flushes, sets, he even had two full houses during our couple of hours at the poker table. Somehow this idiot had grinded his way to to almost $18,000 after a couple all-in preflop scenarios. Yes, miraculously my idiot friend had turned $1,000 into $18,000 in two hours whilst drunk. Needless to say we were astonished. So after a few sideways hands, and dropping down a little, the fish had left the table, likely boiling with rage that my friend had been getting so lucky. Then he does the unthinkable, whilst we're at the slot machines, he waltzes over to the roulette table and drops the entire lot on red and loses. What a complete moron. The next day he could scarcely remember the happenings at the casino, and did not believe what he had done until he saw his bank balance $1,000 lower.

And that's why you don't gamble whilst drunk ladies and gentlemen.

Education has nothing to do with the nature of humans. In today’s world, it is just a tool to get job and job is an income source. So I was playing on PD frequently and I loved the people in the chat room. We always tipped each other and such. When I played it was usually small amount. I rather take more bets at a lower wage than less bets at a higher wage.

Anyways one day I was playing and I usually use my mouse to change the bet size.
After like 100 rolls of so, I accidentally clicked the "max bet" button by accident and ended up losing that roll.

I was furious and basically stopped keeping large amounts of BTC on there if I ever accidentally clicked that button again.

Owchhh that hurts,that is why we need to be calm while placing bets if we are in urgent we may click the wrong button and end up losing all our funds.And keeping the decent amount of funds in account can save us from these kind of accidents.
Recently there is a similar case found with a player but he is accusing that gambling site and want his funds back.LOL.

I guess that from your mistake, you can learn something which is not keeping a large amount of bitcoin because we never know if we have the same experience like before. maybe we win the games and unfortunately, we don't check anything and just click the bet and we are losing our money. but all in all, this is a good lesson to every gambler that we need to always check how much our bet so we don't make any mistake.

Yes,as you said we don't want to be in a situation of shame among others that is why our mind will keep saying win and win.But as a professional trader we need to control our emotions and don't be shy because really no one is noticing that much but our mind thinks that everyone keep looking on us,that is not happen in only the gambling on all other works too,losing is not a big matter bro.Take it easy like a boss.

It is going to happen because it your own money and friends will always make you high to play and bet more as if you lose it will be your money and if you win they will ask for part or some drinks etc. So you need to be smart and play accordingly.

I've been playing online for quite sometime now and I have my ups and downs. When its a bad day for me and lost majority of my allocated funds for gambling I just turn off my PC and move on with my life. I'll return again when I have enough funds for online gambling. I don't play using my savings, that way I don't feel the guilt and try to recover my losses.
