Walk of Shame

I am not realiy a gambler though sometimes i am beating minimal in some other lottery games. But talking about walk of shame because nothing left in the pocket after the extreme lose is really hard to imagine. I understand that it is not an easy scenario and hopefully it won’t happen to anyone who gamble. Gambling is a choice but hopefully we can manage also our activity and always set the limits first.

I think that if you will continue that for some time then you will really become addicted to that and will really become a regular gambling, and then it will become difficult for you to stop playing gambling, because I have seen so many gambling who wishes to stop playing gambling but still they find it hard to do so.

I think it's because they don't want to leave the gambling places before they can win and it just makes them lose more money. but if this will makes them move the gambling places and they walk to go home, then it's not worth to continue the games. actually, they can prevent to get a walk of shame experience, but this depends on them itself.

Me also, I never had experience a walk of shame.. Because I never play any gambling just to loss my money,. And never tried to my wallet is empty and never to use it from that thing, just to have an a experience of walk of shame.

If you never play gambling just to lose your money, how come do you gamble to win?

Sometimes it's hard to believe if there are people that are gambling to win only and forgets the fun side and okay with losses.

I guess all gamblers who often comment on this board had those road of shame. I had that kind of experience as well, but I never play with big money, so I never loose big money logically, so even if I lost everything I had couple of times the road wasn't so shameful to me.

If you can consider walking from my pc to bed after losing all, I had one.. Once, I started betting with 200$ and won the Jackpot, it was well over 2500$.. then I continued betting on the same jackpot till I was about RIP and then won almost at the end, which made my balance well over 3000$.. I celebrated the win and all, devil came to me in the form of the "one last bet" thought... I was overwhelmed with having all the luck.. I joined a coinflip...went all in.. and all is gone in 3 secs.. I watched the coin spin away with my money .. that was a tough night to get sleep.

Reading your story was like a memories coming back to me. Lol. It happened to me multiple times in a landbased casino won big but there's almost that one itch you need to scratch and the urge to go for one more bet and then everything happens so fast. 24 hours ago, I had another brushed with walk of shame, had last money as a taxi fare, but decided to take the risk and won was able to recoup and win a few but then decided to make that last bet again capital was almost reduced in half but I was happy to snap and just decided to walk away with just minor losses. Good thing I was able to control my emotions that time.

Haha this is what happens to almost every gambler when they don't recognise the time to stop the game. Anyway it's not a good experience but form learning point of view it can be considered a good lesson for the future. Most of the time we see people complaining about setting the limits and control of greed, when you don't have control over the two, such things will happen frequently.

Greediness is one of the main factor that for sure will lead us to get bad regret at the end. If we keep feeding our greediness then I am sure, there is no way for us to get fun from gambling. It will only give us bad stories again and again.

I think it's inappropriate to generalize all people who gamble. Not all people who gambles are greedy, Maybe you are correct in terms of saying that people consider this as one of the shortest, fastest and etc. to make money but Like I always say, Gambling is meant for fun and entertainment but there are people who really are irresponsible that put the name of the industry in a bad a reputation. Greed is already part of our human nature to begin with, each and everyone of us is greedy in our own way/s. Also, just to counter your claim about "where they do not require any knowledge or experience" may be for some games it may not require knowledge and/or experience, but for example Poker, Blackjack and most of the card games, Experience and knowledge could be so useful for the player.

In fact people only feel shame when they lose a big amount of money and the second reason can be that they play gambling in such area where gambling is not consider as legal. I think that we do not need to feel sham if we play gambling in a limit and only such such amount of money that we can afford to lose.

Based on your comments, I'm sure that you are not a gambler so don't say that everyone is greedy. There are people who gambles for fun, you can just go and enter a traditional casino and you will see that not all are playing for the money. Yes the risk factor is always there and 99% the house wins, but those 1% are willing to risk and if you are not a gambler, you wouldn't understand it.

Did anyone here have experience a walk of shame (Walking home since you have a loss all your gambling money in just one snap)? Well, It did happen to me once and I'll never do that again. It was the bad year for me (Peek of my addiction), I normally left my atm/credit card at home if I were to visit a casino and have enough money wih some changes for my stay, food, drink and my fare. The first time it happens to me is when I was so frustrated because I can't win up to point I already spent my allocated money for my fare. I was devastated that I need to go home at 3 a.m. with no money literally and I haven't got a phone in me (which make it worst). Started walking from the casino going home it was the longest walk I ever made I pity myself and upon arriving at home my wife and my kids are already awake, I just can't bare to look at them. I don't even know what to say at that point. I just walk in shame, in front of my kids.

How about you, have experienced it? We all have different interpretation on "Walk of shame".

Yes i have experienced the walk of shame that you are saying because i have played all night and all day in a casino for me to win a huge prize of money but i end up losing all of my money, even my savings. That is why i am really down that time and hating myself by playing gambling and not thinking straight before while playing.

This doesn't have to do with money but I once spilled my drink on the blackjack table.  It was pretty embarrassing but the staff was nice about it.  They even give me a replacement drink   I do most of my gambling online these days anyways since its a lot more convenient and more relaxing.

This was a really nice gesture by the casino by replacing it with another drink. Also the blackjack table got disrupted with the fall on the drink so they had to make some changes due to it. But really this small things do make the most effect on the person mind.

Seeing events that you experience I think is still good, because you do not become cruel by committing any crime or darkness of the incident, because as far as I know if they have become gambling addicts and then lose big on the gambling table then people usually these people will do everything they can to return the lost money, but you can still control your emotions well and that is very good. I personally have never experienced that because I am not a gambler in real life, unlike most friends around me who always travel to the gambling table.

I think we can feel shame if we get caught by other people who don't involve in the gambling activities, and we can feel that is not good if they know that we are playing gambling. It happens to me in the past especially at that time, I am playing a traditional card with some of my friends, and the old person came and saw me playing the card. And in that time, me and my friends hiding the card and pretending that we are only talking to each other and when that old person leave, we start to play again. This is for small examples that I got in the past, and it feels so embarrassing for me

It may be anywhere when you lose the money in gambling nobody feels good about it and specially when people gamble to make money always feel bad and would feel shamed as well as they had walked to make money but ended up losing that day. Also might be having sleepless night as they only think about the recovery of the lost money firstly and then how can they win and make money from it.

I don't think it depends on the amount of money you are gambling on? sometimes I play poker and sports bets with my friends, with low amount, but when I lose, that is enough to embarrass and make me shame, because my friend made a profit from me

Sometimes I felt it too, and I think it's natural because they took our money in the game. But the best is after I got lose from my friend, he buys a drink or food, and we can enjoy it together. At that moment, I almost forgot that the money he used to buy that drink and food is from my money But I don't mind because, after all of that, we can still enjoy the day with talking each other.

Yep I did it several times, but I don't have any kids or wife. At this time I just remember how many times I won and how many times lost, after that I understand that I won much often, so I'm getting better.
