I think that's one of the downsides of having a decentralized type of currency. A large number of people could convene and collude to manipulate the price of certain coins that could really affect how small players in the market. If there is truth to that, I think that other players should try to neutralize this from really making a big impact in the market so that it would not be unfair for those who are just trying to make it big in this market without doing anything but looking at the market closely. If some number of people could manipulate the value of some coins to make their trades more valuable, isn't that a form of cheating already?

It won't work, even if you have big community with more than 10k member and millions of $ it can't even manipulate a bitcoin market with a total cap of 150B$ and you need hundred millions of dollar to even manipulate a market for a day. Take a look at the 24H volume of bitcoin with billions of dollar volume. If you're talking about manipulating altcoin like NXT or anything, you might see the price go up but it al about volume, if it goes up all the way because of your volume only, then you won't be able to cash it out. Altcoins didn't have enough reputation to be triggered with a couple millions of dollar. You should stop thinking about manipulating something and try to study your own trade instead.

Their target has always been newbies and that is an unethical way of trying to maximize profit. I guess OP must be thinking he is coming up with this idea for the first time. It has always been like this and really, it is not considered as scam by most people after all the losses they have ended up having and no one will ever give any shit about a pump and dump group these days.

What the guys calling the shot always end up doing is to accumulate at the bottom, tell the followers to buy, the price skyrockets and they dump. Some will even lie to you that they are not participating. That is crazy and totally crazy!

It's of course work in crypto currency but you must influence more people to get same action to buy. I think this is a problem because we don't know how to convey that to all trader and each trader certainly have their mean to decide. except you have so much assets that you can decide your self to get effect.

It is not new. That is more like creating a pump and dump group and normally, whoever is calling the shot is always the one enjoying the benefits. I am not sure anyone will be ready to go that road with you, unless you are just some group of whales with some huge amount of money or holding to play with the market, and if you have good knowledge of trading to play with how traders do their thing, then you should end up having a good win.

a) Either you will not be able to maximize your profit because your not in on the inner circle of a pump group (which is most likely)

b) Or you create the pump group and are involved in the inner circle (but are highly immoral and unethical)

Right and most of the creators of the pump groups are always unethical since they actually just want to keep enriching themselves at the expense of others and that was the reason bittrex sent a message on banning anyone that is suspected to be involved in pump activities.

The thing is whoever is in the inner circle are always the ones enjoying and those who are just on the surface getting either lucky or losing a lot in the process. I really do not fancy that as well and those days are long gone anyway since people are already enlightened to how pump groups suck.

Thats actually not allowed to do and people do it all the time anyway called as Pumper groups. This method is artificial way of pumping any coin that you wish to invest and it is mostly followed with the help of telegram groups who decide what to pump and when to pump and even upto what extension to pump it. I think it is better to stay from such methods because they do work but they are more than a risk to follow in first place. We dont know if all the members will really follow the rules and someone might just dump the coin before it surpass your ROI point. Also if exchangers notice that you pumping a coin then they might ban your account along with the funds. Better not to do it.

Yes it will work that is the pump and dump activity, many people gather and try to lure some big whale to participate in that activity and causing the price that they want, but since btc is too widely used it's too hard to manipulate it, the group usually seach for alt coin, and there are already prove everywhere where the price suddenly go up without any incident and the price will go down in an instance

If anyone wants to maximize profit, they should learn how to trade and stick with that and unless they are big whales coming together to call the shots, then there is really no reason coming together as small traders to think this will work. Also, whales will not even be announcing themselves, as they have all it takes to control the market to any spot they wish. Any other thing asides that, is going to end up as a pump and dump group and it sucked a long time ago.

That would be almost like a pump and dump group, but that is illegal and I don't really think that would be good for crypto, since we want to legitimize crypto, and using it in illegal manners wont get us there. Of course there are trading groups, where people try to analyze the market together, an eventually follow each others tips, and although that might end up being almost the same, it's different in principal and not illegal.

This idea is fit for the current market situation because profit and loss is depend on the market situation when market goes down the coins are at their bottom and if you pick the coins from bottom you have to good option to sell at their high price because it is already you pick at bottom, I think if you can get any coin in this way you can get their good in return.

This is what called as Pump and Dump and I am totally against it. Besides that, it is really really tough to pump and dump BTC because it is the major pair of cryptocurrencies and is traded at high volume. So a huge amount of money is needed all together to pump and dump BTC. Apart from that, this so called pump and dump scheme won't workout for a long time since only the early investors/traders are the ones who would be able to get maximum profit and the ones who invest late in it will be bag holders who would have bought the coin at high prices. So eventually there will be no investors left to invest as most people would back off by facing continuous losses.

If you want to make the maximum trading profit, then the first thing which you need to realize is that the market does not remain the same all the time and that it keeps on changing in a way that the market value either increases or decreases. You need to be very much careful while dealing such things as this is the time which will either make you earn money or will take away your money.

That was actually the first thing that came on my mind after I red your main topic. But how many people is necessary for such manipulations and how can you trust to everybody when there is an opportunity to make a group inside of the group and simply get all the money? There are many points you need to think about before to make such plan to come true and it still can not be 100% successful variant for trading money making.

Of course it could work, this is what a pump and dump group is. Given that crypto is unregulated this is allowed (It's not allowed in more traditional markets) but you need to know that the people you're doing it with have deep enough pockets and are trustworthy. Someone can easily cash out before your target and then you're all left holding falling coins.

That is really true. This is what happens in the pump and dump group if you trust them too much. I have tried few of the telegram groups and they really suck in the way they work. They are like joke in the crypto world where people sell before the higher wall is reached because they get greedy about the investment they had and this can turn out to be loss for you. Its better to learn from your own experiences or at least from the experience of others, like me. 
The crypto is volatile and naturally it is pumping and dumping a lot so you can easily get your chance of investment by that way. There is no need to look for artificial opportunity like that.
